Controlling Different Loads using NUT
Hello,
I was setting up a TrippLite UPS more specifically the SMART1000RMXL2U
model and the way I have it set up is I have a network switch plugged into
one load and the PC plugged into another load on this UPS model. Is there
any way I can configure the UPS using NUT to have the load containing the
PC to delay its boot up by 10 minutes for example to allow the other load
to turn on before it?

Controlling which loads come on after a power outage using NUT
Hi,
I have a SMART1000RMXL2U TrippLite and have issues with the power coming
back on during the shutdown as one of the loads are turning on too quickly
causing a configuration switch on the other load to not boot on in time.
The way I have it set up is I have a network switch plugged into one load
and the PC plugged into another load on this UPS model. Is there any way I

AVRX750/500 issues
Thanks for chiming in @David Zomaya. Tripp Lite replaced my AVRX550U once thinking that the powering back on was a defective unit, but the replacement does the same thing. The SN on the first one is 2935AVHOM87BB00152. NUT has my model listed as protocol 2010, so that needs to be corrected to 2012, but I'm not sure if anyone is doing active development on it right now.
I also have a

AVRX750/500 issues
I wouldn't be surprised if they both use the same driver. I think they are essentially the same model, but with one having a slightly larger battery. My issue is primarily with the UPS turning back on after having shut off like it should. @Scott Colby if you take a look at the config files I posted in the github issue I created, perhaps that will give you some hints on your issue. Maybe

I'm not seeing this in the log. I'm guessing that's not great.

David,
Thanks again for your help today. You're amazing.
If the folks on the list could chime in - thoughts about what I could try next?

Sorry, neglected to mention:
You'll need to either reload the udev rules or reboot to make the new rule "active".
Thank you,

The fix:
Was following a howto here: https://raymondjdouglas.com/blog/2018/ups-monitoring/
Much thanks to David Zomaya for coming up with the recipe!

Just have

No, it's not.
I'd defer to the list for tips on that one.
First thing I'd try if no one else has ideas is checking lsusb and restarting the service.
Thank you,

Funny - I thought of that and had tried it. Didn't work
I also moved it from the USB2 ports to the USB3 ports.
Same result.
I have not heard of udev, but after quick googling and glancing at an example, /etc/udev/rules.d/99-com.rules
I am not convinced that I coule come up with a formula to make a working rule.
Is there a simple sample I can copy to help figure out elevated

David,
I appreciate the quick feedback!
If I didn't fat finger any of the parameters you sent me, it's still not working.
Here's the output from the attempt to start. (BTW - nothing appears in the daemon.log when I use the upsdrvctl command.)

David,
That's exciting - but I am not seeing similar results.
I *must* be doing something dumb - but I can't see it.
I've got nut-2.7.4-8 installed on my pi
Hope you can help.

[POSSIBLE FRAUD] Re: [EXTERNAL] Tripp Lite INTERNET750U instant commands ?
Hi Jean-Roch,
No. There is no user-facing firmware update process available.
If there are any particular commands you're interested in on a newer unit, I can look them up.

TrippLite SU3000XLCD
I'm having trouble with a TrippLite SU3000XLCD. I'm using a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian (wheezy) with NUT 2.6.4.
I can monitor my older TrippLite UPSs, mostly SU1000RT2Us, with this Pi and a USB to serial adapter.
My first thought with the SU3000XLCD was to use the USB port instead of the serial port as that's the "modern" thing to do. When I plugged the USB cable in

[EXTERNAL] Re: Fixing Drops With SMART1500LCDXL & USB-HID Driver
Updates on this:
1) Making progress in the related Dev list thread here: https://alioth-lists.debian.net/pipermail/nut-upsdev/2019-June/007440.html
I’ll keep that thread up to date with progress as I go. But if there are specific things it would make sense to test here, just let me know. Otherwise, I figure reducing redundancy makes sense?
2) I tried disabling usbcore.autosuspend, but

Glad to hear it's working, thanks Tom.
Network UPS Tools team: is fixing this as simple as me telling you what new UPS protocols are HID-PDC compliant?
Thank you,

Ok thank's for your time David, the PSUs, I have two old ones, are working
very well. I simply put in new batteries and on they go :-). I'm using the
PSUs mostly to secure my Raspberry PIs, which are notorious to fail (SD
card) on power failures. Bye, jrb.

Thank's David, really appreciate your answer, and your time. Just a yes or
a no, can I upgrade the firmware on this UPS ?
Cheers

Borrowing from our friends at Ask Ubuntu ( https://askubuntu.com/a/276637 ) there is. I've modified it for use with a Tripp Lite UPS and 3024 protocol below. Try disconnect/reconnect after and see what happens.
:/etc/nut$ cat /etc/udev/rules.d/90-nut-ups.rules
# /etc/udev/rules.d/90-nut-ups.rules
