JBOD recommendation for ZFS usage
Dear all
Sorry if it''s kind of off-topic for the list but after talking
to lots of vendors I''m running out of ideas...
We are looking for JBOD systems which
(1) hold 20+ 3.3" SATA drives
(2) are rack mountable
(3) have all the nive hot-swap stuff
(4) allow 2 hosts to connect via SAS (4+ lines per host) and see
all available drives as disks, no RAID volume.

Could not find working SSLeay?
I'm installing openssl 0.9.5a and openssh 2.3.0p1 on an Ultra 5 running
Solaris 8 with the latest cluster patch. Openssl installed without any
problems. When I do a configure for openssh I get:

I've reinstalled openssl and everything is there. As a note I've

samba printing from 64-bit windows server 2008
I have a redhat EL5 samba server hosting a collection of printers and
joined to a domain. I can connect to this server and print happily from
a 32-bit XP box on the domain, but a 64-bit windows server 2008 box
cannot connect, and returns the error 0x000006d1.
I get the same results with samba 3.0.33 (came with redhat), 3.5.3 (the
latest from sernet), and 3.3.12 (this message from the

ZFS checksum error detection
Hi all.
A quick question about the checksum error detection routines in ZFS.
Surely ZFS can decide about checksum errors in a redundant environment but
what about an non-redundant one? We connected a single RAID5 array to a
v440 as a NFS server and while doing backups and the like we see the
"zpool status -v" checksum error counters increment once in a while.
Nevertheless the

panic after zfs mount
Dear all
We ran into a nasty problem the other day. One of our mirrored zpool
hosts several ZFS filesystems. After a reboot (all FS mounted at that
time an in use) the machine paniced (console output further down). After
detaching one of the mirrors the pool fortunately imported automatically
in a faulted state without mounting the filesystems. Offling the
unplugged device and clearing the fault

xYplot customizing y-axis scaling
Dear list,
using the packages Hmisc and lattice i produced some nice xYplots. However,
since the data range of the conditioning variable is very big, i need to
define more than one y-scale for the plot (in some panels you just see a
flat line of data points very close to the x-axis), e.g. different y-axis
scales for the different rows of the plot.
Is there a way to do so?
Thanks,
Henning

No convergence using ADAPT
I am trying calculate a probability using numerical integration. The first
program I ran spit out an answer in a very short time. The program is below:
## START PROGRAM

pmvnorm(lower = c(0,0), upper = c(2, 2), mean = input, sigma = matrix(c(.1, 0,
0, .1), nrow = 2, ncol = 2, byrow = FALSE))
}

Superscript/Subscript in main title
I have been trying to figure out how to get superscript/subscript in the
main title for a plot. I have tried various approaches and suggestions but
none of them work. I am trying to get the following as the main title of my
plot:
Emission of CO2 with time
(but note that 2 is subscript.)
I have tried
plot(main="Emission of C"expression(O[2]) "with time")
and I get error

samba-3.2-pre2 feedback
Hi,
As with the last few releases, compiling on solaris requires that I edit the
Makefile and remove instances of "-z text"
Also, once compiling and installing, it seems unable to start:

Killed

Problem with print()
Dear R-users,
I?m having for the first time a problem while printing out values in the
screen,
I have a function wich takes quite a long time to execute, and I thought
it?d be useful to insert a print statement inside the main loop to keep
control of the current iteration,
however, for some reason, the prints() are not shown in real time, and
only when I stop the execution, all prints up to

everyone acl
Howdy all,
I was wondering if there was a known bug with the everyone acl. When
looking at the security tab on windows the everyone acl has the read
permission. If I unselect it to give everyone no permission and hit
apply, read becomes checked again. If I select deny everyone read, then
a warning pops up saying this will deny read for all users and it does.
If after that I give read to another
