virtual isp address, local delivery
I'm trying to understand how to deliver mail to an address locally which is popped from my isps email account. I access and keep these emails backed up on dovecot and use postfix smtp to deliver mail. The problem is that while fetchmail uses dovecot lda directly, postfix can't include my isps domain in its $mydestination because I won't be able to send mail to other users in that

allow_nets and mysql question
Hi. I want to use allow_nets in my configuration, but i have some troubles which i cant resolve. To use allow_nets i creates `allow_nets` text field in my mysql users table. My query is: from: dovecot/sql.conf: password_query = SELECT crypt as password, maildir as userdb_mail, 6 AS userdb_uid,6 AS userdb_gid, allow_nets FROM users WHERE id = '%u' from dovecot.conf: auth default {

submission_host auth
> When using dovecot container with sieve plugin there is no sendmail to use for sending email for sieve redirect action for example. We can use submission_host instead https://doc.dovecot.org/settings/core/#core_setting-submission_host but there is no way to specify credentials for auth in remote MTA. Submission_relay_* settings e.g. submission_relay_master_user relate to dovecot submission

submission_host auth

I think you are right and SASL isn't used here. I have dovecot and postfix on the same machine and in dovecot i set submission_host = localhost:25 Then in my

compaq r4000 /proc/cpuinfo reports 997 and should be 2400
Hi I have a compaq R4000 with the 2.4GIG AMD 64 bit. 4000+ rated. proc cpuinfo reports cpu Mhz as 997.481 Do I have to run the 64 bit version to have things run correctly? I just have the normal 4.2 loaded at this time. The laptop seems slow for 4000+ as reflected by the cpu Mhz also. Any thoughts on running the 32 bit version of 4.2 vs the 64 bit version of 4.2? Jerry

Postfix with Deliver (LDA) - user unknown
Good Day All! I am attempting to configure deliver as our LDA. I am also configuring the server to use Postfix instead of Sendmail. I have followed the all the documentation and examples I could find. Below are my Dovecot and Postfix configs. Can someone please smack me upside the head and tell me why I am getting "user unknown" errors? If i don't use deliver as the LDA, all

index locally
> Do you know if is possible to store indexes locally instead of NFS in dovecot 2.2.7 ? Yes you can set different paths for mail and index storage. mail_location = maildir:/mnt/email/%n/_folders:INDEX=/local/email/%n/_dovecot:CONTROL=/local/email/%n/_dovecot However in my experience when i did this the indexes seemed to have issues keeping updated across multiple machines. Can I use a static build to install on an obsolete target?
For complex reasons, I need to run Wine on RedHat 7.2 (which dates from about 2001, kernel 2.4.7). The wine that shipped on 7.2 is pretty much unusable (for me); I have issues with keyboard input and fonts, the Windows app doesn't run, it uses the old-style config file, and so on. I figured that installing a more recent binary RPM would lead to all sorts of dependency problems, and I need

Problems, virtual and alias, Dovecot, Neomutt, OpenSMTPD on OpenBSD
I'm having some problems. I'm using virtual users with real domains. That is working, but the folders are not showing up properly in neomutt, for both virtual users and system users. When I use K9 on Android, the folders show up correctly. Sending is working, but I don't have auth setup right on OpenSMTPD, so I'm sending locally, not remotely (including from K9, which can't

Postfix : root and system user authentication
> However, when we have a postfix server on the same machine, that delegates authentication to dovecot SASL ... we can indeed log in as root on the postfix server. You are not logging into Dovecot with root, you are connecting to Postfix for submission. When you connect to dovecot using linux users (PAM) the process running takes on the UID of the login user to give file permissions to read

Problem with FlexLM licensing
I'm trying to run up ModelSim (a commercial simulator for hardware description languages), which is licensed on FlexLM, using the hard disk number. This program isn't listed in the apps database. I have a valid license, and the Flex tools are correctly identifying, under Wine, that there's a licence and that it's valid. They find the appropriate env variable, identify the

LMTP with virtual and system users
Hi, I have a mailsystem where i have some local users with shell access and full home dirs which receive mail and also several SQL virtual users only for mail. With the virtual users, everything works fine. Mail is delivered via LMTP and also sieve works :) The SQL Lookup knows what to do with username at domain.com The problem is the system user. [PATCH v8 5/7] iommu: Add virtio-iommu driver
The virtio IOMMU is a para-virtualized device, allowing to send IOMMU requests such as map/unmap over virtio transport without emulating page tables. This implementation handles ATTACH, DETACH, MAP and UNMAP requests. The bulk of the code transforms calls coming from the IOMMU API into corresponding virtio requests. Mappings are kept in an interval tree instead of page tables. A little more work
