Dag repository...
A bit of a new guy around these parts... I've done a bit of looking, and haven't found any newbie-friendly instructions on how to add the Dag repository to my CentOS4 box. Could somebody help me out and point me in the right direction? Thanks... -- --- David Woyciesjes

CentOS 5 & USB Kickstart?
Is anybody else having problems with CentOS 5 not loading the usb drivers for kickstart installations? I'm passing "linux ks=hd:sdb1:/ks.cfg," but I get a message saying it can't find the ks.cfg file and I should enter another path. I use the exact same boot options with CentOS 4 without any problems. What am I missing with CentOS 5? Thanks for any tips. -- Jiann-Ming Su

PGP On Centos
Hey I need to run some pgp commands, -what's the name of the package supported by Centos that will allow me to work with pgp? I need to run pgp --fingerprint key.name or it's equivalent. Pro question. Google searches didn't show much, tried to search for pgp, gnupg, openpgp, pgp on centos, openpgp on centos, centos/pgp. No worthy results came back. Any advice? -karlski

1-SE rule in mvpart
Hello, I'm using mvpart option xv="1se" to compute a regression tree of good size with the 1-SE rule. To better understand 1-SE rule, I took a look on its coding in mvpart, which is : Let z be a rpart object , xerror <- z$cptable[, 4] xstd <- z$cptable[, 5] splt <- min(seq(along = xerror)[xerror <= min(xerror) + xvse * xstd]) I interprete this as following: the

Hi, have anybody a hint how i can perform my speed for a big reshape jobs? My "long" data.frame have dim 1.342.116 3 and the "wide" data.frame could occur (if i don't filter the timevar) max. in a 246744 x 1444 data.frame with a lot of NA what could be set to 0. Neverthless i didn't need really 1444 columns (idependent's for data-mining) , but

Guest access to a foreign NT domain fail...
I'm migrating from a (set of) NT domain, say SANVITO, to an AD domain, say LNFFVG. Both domain live in the same network, so there's no firewall/routing/... in the middle. In SANVITO domain, there's a share (say \\MEDIA\Software) with public access enabled. In SANVITO domain, public access works as expected. The same share are accessible with login (and password; so, non

R or weka
Hi, guys: These days I keep using R and Weka to do data mining. I think my next step is open the source codes so that I can "customrize them" and make them better server my purpose. But now I kinda hesitate to do so b/c I am really not sure which is better to start with. You know, both require some time and I cannot clone myself to work on both:) If here are some persons who used both

XEN and vcpus
HI. Got a question. When I assign a number of vcpus to a DomU, Are they dedicated to that VM? For example: If I have 16 vcpus available and 8 DomUs, should I assign 2 vcpus for each one? or could I assign more vcpus (i.e. 6) and the hypervisor takes care of it? File won't copy to client
This is strange, but I use samba for a software archive at work, and we are having trouble with Office 97. I traced it back to riched20.dll. The file is one the server, but it never copies. I can't even see the file. If i rename it, it shows up. What is up with that? /\/\/\/\/\/\ Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. /\/\/\/\/\/\ coreyfro@coreyfro.com http://www.coreyfro.com/

PowerPC can not accurately run HTM
I am running HTB on a PowerPC platform and using following script to do rate limit. When I set rate of class 1:11 lower than 4mbit, I can get traffic rate close to the setting. However, if I set the rate higher than 4mbit, I will get much lower bandwidth (roughly 4.5mbit) than the setting, no matter how big the setting is. To verify the script, I run it on PC with then I got correct result. Could
