Wiki deuglification, last (at the moment) part
Hey, one last change maybe - with the 3% padding on top and bottom, we really lose screen estate at the top. How does it look to you without any padding at top/bottom (leaving a 10px white line there)? That's what's live on wiki-m.centos.org at the moment. Or, if all of you want to have some more space above there (and the background pattern) go with 1% padding? 1% padding means that

Avoiding user home directories
Hi, When I connect to SAMBA using a particular username, apart from the shares I created, it appears that the home directory of the user logging in also shows up in the share list. I searched for a parameter using which I could control this, but was unsuccessful. The [HOMES] section of my SMB.CONF looks like: [homes] comment = Home Directories read only = No create mask

"A critique of R and S-PLUS"
Dear all, The other day I stumbled on this article, "A critique of R and S-PLUS" [1], and got curious on whether the points outlined are (still) valid. The article is quite old, dating 2004, but was updated several times. Regards, Liviu [1] http://fluff.info/blog/arch/00000041.htm -- Do you know how to read? http://www.alienetworks.com/srtest.cfm Do you know how to write?

Hi Chris, AFAIK every open wiki works like this. I think we should restrict accounts to people that ask for it in the mailing list. It won't eliminate

unsubscribing because...
I think it's a sad sign when the mailing list is more about how to manage access to the wiki than actually managing contributions and the content. I don't really have any confidence that centos wants a vibrant community. The recent change list at http://wiki.centos.org/RecentChanges isn't really a good sign. Sorry, but I felt if I simply unsubscribed and disappeared quietly, I'd

masking problems in Vorbis beta?
Hi all, I just came across the following page: http://r3mix.net In the "News" section there is a fairly negative critique of Vorbis; especially it is mentioned that Vorbis "has terrible masking problems". There is also a Vorbis-encoded frequency sweep which shows strong deficiencies at high frequencies, but I suppose this is due to the quite low bitrate of the distributed

License for Wiki Content - LAST CALL
Okay, this will never come to an end otherwise: I would like to use <http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/> as the license for the complete content of the wiki. The content on the wiki is *NOT* licensed at all at the moment. So this call goes out to *ALL* people who have already contributed to the wiki: Is it okay with you to use this license for your content on the wiki? If

And it is fast! And big! And louder! What is? The new CentOS mail server is, which coincidentally also hosts the mailing lists you are reading right now. After three short hours and (AFAICS) no lost mail we now have the following situation: The mailq on the old mail server now is empty, while the new one is already fighting with stale dns info, unknown users, deferrals and so on.
