sftp batch mode and password authentication
Hi all,
I used to execute ftp in batch mode to dowload files. In my case, password
authentication is the only way to get remote access. Could anyone tell me
how can i accomplish the same task using sftp under batchmode as what i have
done with ftp ? Meanwhile, how can i specify the password securely ? Is
there anyother alternatives ?

Ogg Pages Play Time?
Are all audio pages in a Ogg/Vorbis stream the same size? do they have the
same playback duration?
I am developing a P2P streaming application where each client has to dowload
the Ogg/Vorbis pages from other clients (peers) but I need to know how much
time I have to download the next Ogg/Vorbis page before the playback reaches
it.
Something like
numCurrPages = Total of Ogg Pages already

Two Easy questions
Sorry all for these two easy questions:
First, I have a matrix with trhee columns:
A=
Name Eight Puntuation
Pepe 1,85 10
Paco 1,7 7
Pablo 1,82 6
I want to scatter the two columns (I could use pairs or other functions...)
but the only doubt is that I cannot find the way to add in the associated
intersection (the point scattered) the label "Pepe" "Paco" and so

Plugin auto_complete
Hi all !
I began to develop Rails applications with Aptana Radrails under
Windows. For that I had successfully installed auto_complete plugin and
succeeded to use it.
Now I have an iMac and I''m trying to restart my developments under OS X.
My problem is: when I run the command ''script/plugin install
auto_complete'', the result is:

[LLVMdev] Including flex/bison output in cvs
Hi all,
At the moment, LLVM includes the .l, .y sources that are compiled by
flex and biston via make. This is fine for most unix developers. For
windows developers, it's a bit more of a pain to download flex/bison,
but is still a one-time thing.
However, anyone releasing an llvm frontend will require their users to
have flex/bison. Most (but not all) unix boxes have them, but almost

step function
Hello I am using the step function in order to do backward selection for a
linear model of 52 variables with the following commands:
object<-lm(vars[,1] ~ (vars[,2:(ncol(predictors)+1)]-1))
BackS<-step(object,direction="backward")
but it isn't dropping any if the variables in the model, but there are lots
of not significant variables as you can see here

[Bridge] Sniffing a linux bridge vs sniffing enslaved interfaces
Hi all
Assume that you have a linux bridge with two interfaces eth0 and eth1
enslaved to this bridge
What is the difference between sniffing the bridge and sniffing its
interfaces?
tcpdump -i br0 vs tcpdump -i eth0
Thanks

[Bridge] Sniffing a linux bridge vs sniffing enslaved interfaces
I can think of several potential differences. ?You may miss any bridge
specific traffic (STP, LLDP) using the interfaces generated by the bridge
itself.
If you have vlan tagged sub interfaces you might also miss that traffic if
you were snooping a particular interface. Obviously you will miss any
on-wire broadcast traffic specific to the layer1 connection a particular
interface was connected to

Memdisk image size limitation?
All,
Quick question. What would be a good rule of thumb for the size limitations
of a bootable image for MEMDISK. Not involving network dowload of the
image, but relation of the image size to total RAM size. Let's say I had
1GB of RAM, is there a size my image should be limited to? Does MEMDISK
have a maximum image size? Thanks.

Using S-Plus Documentation with R
Insightful has some nice docs available for download that are s-plus command
line guides to statistics. There are two versions, one for S-plus 2000 and
one for S-plus 6.0.
With regard to syntax, is one a closer match to R than the other? Are they
based on the same S engines? Does that matter? I know there will be
differences in any case, I am just trying to decide wich version I want to

README file for Samba Head
I was just browsing the Samba CVS FTP site, and I noticed that in the
Samba directory, where What's New file identfies the source as Alpha 3.0,
the Readme File identifies itself as stable 2.0.x.. I just thought y'all
might want to update that so as to avoid painful confusion.
P.S. If one wanted to dowload sources for Samba 2.0.10 (or newer in 2.0),
where would one look?

Problem with 2.3 nested forms and new elements
Hi,
I''m using the new nested forms functionality and I having problems with
new created elements.
I have an invoice with lines. I would like to be able to create a new
invoice, in the same form insert new lines dinamically and saving the
invoice and the lines when everything is validated, not before.
The problem is that when I add a line dinamically to the form, the new
line created

Network Sniffing Calls for recording
Ok assuming I don't want to record calls using * but instead want a
dedicated server that listens to a mirror port and records calls. Is there a
cheap software package out there for doing this for mgcp/sccp? I know if
evern cut over to * there is a way but I doubt I will even cut 100% over to
* so I was wonder what the list has heard of for call recording via sniffing
my gates. I know there

Q. on key sniffing/spoofing
Hi everyone,
I'd like to set up the RSA keys for the IAX registration, but have a
couple of Q's. I have the manual and can follow the instructions, but I
want to understand the limitations.
First, understand there will be a central Asterisk (which has the
private key?) and several remote Asterisks (which are as automated as
possible, and each have the same public key?). We
