pidpath, altpidpath, statepath considered muddled or confusing
I'm following up on a request from a pkgsrc user to improve the package,
and that's leading me to thinking part of the issues are in nut, vs the
package.
Setting aside daemons that run as root vs not, there are two kinds of
directories, using the BSD hier(7) scheme:
   /var/db/nut:
     - state files intended to persist across reboots
   /var/run/nut:
     - pidfiles
     - (probably)

unable to connect to APC UPS Connection Refused
I've not been able to connect to my ups using NUT 2.7.4 or NUT 2.8.0.
2.7.4 was installed as a package, 2.8.O was compiled from source.
I've messed with permissons, everything is root:root and has the approprate read/execute permissons. I've tried two differnt UPS(es) APC & CyperPower. I'm running PI OS (Raspbian) on a Raspberry Pi3 model B. The port 3493 is open (UFW). I can

The system doesn't shutdown
Yes, that was the power off test. However the upssched-cmd script gave
absolutely no signs of activity. Even it's logger lines don't show up in
journalctl. No any permission error messages - nothing. Only the 2 messages
from upsmon - on battery and then on line power.

upsmon+snmp-ups does not shut down system
I've googled and RTFM'ed, but still can't solve this one. I hope you folks can.
This affects my entire computer cluster, but let's start simple: I've got a
computer running NUT; OS is Scientific Linux 5.5; kernel 2.6.18-274.12.1.el5xen.
It connects to an APC SMART-UPS via an APC SmartCard using the snmp-ups driver.
It generally works: upsmon will detect if the battery is low

I am using the Microsoft Windows XP SP3 and would like to use the Windows MSI installer 2.6.1-1
I tried to configure NUT manually, but until now failed.
If possible I would like to use the PowerWalker Line-Interactive VI 1400 device which should work with blazer_usb
Does anyone have possibility to provide me the correct configuration for the files (ups.conf, upsd.{users, conf} and

network-ups-tools won't shutdown my PC
Hello,
I'm using Archlinux x86_64 with linux-nouveau kernel (based on
linux-mainline (that is linux-3.6)).
I've installed nut-2.6.5. I first tried to use new systemctl .service
scripts, but they are problematic.
So I start and stop nut from /etc/rc.c script.
This way, it "woks".
Here are my config files :
nut.conf :
MODE=netserver
ups.conf :

driver = usbhid-ups

I'm having problems with what I'm told should be a straightforward
