Problem using Feedtools on my Rails project!
Hi
I''m trying to setup my app to use Feedtools amazing RSS powers, but it
fails miserably on the following line:
logger.debug("Description:#{FeedTools::Feed.open("http://rss.slashdot.org/Slashdot/slashdot").items.first.description}")
The stack trace says:

traffic shaping and classes
I''m looking over this traffic shaping available in the tc* files.
I went through this when I did my own traffic shaping outside of
shorewall previously.
For the average (i.e. home, perhaps) user, I''ve never understood why we
use these more complicated shaping algorithms that define classes and
guaranteed minimums and maximums and so forth.
For most home, or other small use

Props to Mongrel/Zed
Hi All,
After upgrading to 1.1 + on a production VPS which was using a combination
of Apache 1.33 + SCGI serving up Rails 1.0 app across multiple domains I ran
into some major instability problems which I could not pin down (although
some very suspicious POSTs were showing up in the log files that can''t have
been good). As an experiment I went with the new way of thinking Mongrel and

Burn Out
I think that the time has come for me to back off a bit from my
involvement with Shorewall. I just don''t have enough cycles (or energy) to
keep up the pace of the last several months. As a consequence, I''m going
to do the following:
1. I''m going to stop personally supporting the entry level tools (samples
and quick start guide).
These tools are a source of constant

Win 2K Compatibility
Dear Sir or Madam
We are currently using Samba 2.0.5a on an IRIX 6.5 Unix server to allow NT 4
clients to map to the server. Will this version of Samba support a Windows
2000 professional client on:
a. A Windows NT 4.0 domain.
b. A Windows 2000 domain.
Can you recommend the version of Samba required, if the above is not
supported.
Regards

Wish list
While the subject is new features, here''s something I''d like to see.
I''d like to have a way for shorewall to be able to monitor a log file
and take an action when a condition is met. For instance, if Shorewall
could monitor /var/log/httpd/access_log for entries which I have defined
(and know to be an attack), and then take an action such as blacklisting
a host or domain

Parameterized Samples Withdrawn
Although the parameterized samples have allowed people to get a firewall
up and running quickly, they have unfortunately set the wrong level of
expectation among those who have used them. I am therefore withdrawing
support for the samples and I am recommending that they not be used in new
Shorewall installations.

Mitel 5010
Does anyone know if this phone can or does work with Asterisk ? I have a
potential client who wants to throw away their current mitel ip system
(keeps crashing on a regular basis - not good for a phone-based company),
but are reluctant to purchase new handsets.
Thanks.

Shameless plug
Geoff is interviewing me about RSpec and continuous integration:
http://podcast.rubyonrails.org/
The interview is a month old, and there has been a lot of great
development in RSpec''s mocking/stubbing and Rails controller/view area
in the meanwhile. I''m not so sure we''ll ditch our own mocking yet :-)
Cheers,
Aslak

shameless newb question
Hello all,
I have developed a rails application and Im ready to host it. So far I have registered a domain name, and purchased hosting on site5. The problem is, I dont know what to do next. Maybe someone can point me to a tutorial, but I really do not know the process of moving the application onto my host. Do I copy the entire rails directory structure into the www directory? How do I
