Using torrent in tcrules
Hi all,
I''m trying to set up traffic shaping and I''m having some difficulty.
Here is what I want, and where I am.
1. HTTP and SMTP traffic needs to be priority 1.
2. All other traffic priority 2
3. Torrent traffic priority 3.
My distro is Fedora Core 4, and the torrent protocol does not appear
in /etc/protocols. The only protocol is TCP, which HTTP and SMTP is
built on top

[PATCH] Ignore unfragmented file checks in defrag when compression enabled
I noticed that btrfs fi defrag -c<method> can''t be used to compress files
unless they are fragmented. This patch corrects the problem, by informing
should_defrag_range if compression is enabled, and skipping tests for extent
and adjacent extents if it is.

defrag makes fragmentation worse
Kernel 3.1-rc8
btrfs-progs-0.19
mount options: noatime, autodefrag (space_cache is enabled)
There are snapshots present on the filesystem.
When I do a btrfs fi defrag on a file, the file becomes much more
fragmented. The end result can be a file with 20k times more fragments
than before. Initially I thought the extents were just smaller but
were next to each other, so I checked with both

enquiry about defrag
Hi all,
i am new on btrfs, i am testing KVM on btrfs (host: kernel x86-64 3.5.3), the performance is reasonable.
I have two question on defrag, can someone help me?
1. According to btrfs wiki, defragment a COW file will produce two unrelated files.
Does it apply to the "autodefrag" mount option?
2. Is there any command for the fragmentation status of a file/dir ? e.g. fragment

PATCH: btrfs defrag ioctl, override extent count and size checks compression enabled.
I noticed a few days ago that btrfs fi defrag -cXXX can not be used to
compress files unless they are fragmented. The attached patch passes
the compression flag to should_defrag_range, where it disables the
adjacent-extent and extent size checks if set. The inline/sparse
extent check is not modified - I assumed it would not be useful to
compress inline extents.

[PATCH] Btrfs: allow running defrag in parallel to administrative tasks
Commit 5ac00add added a testnset mutex and code that disallows
running administrative tasks in parallel. It is prevented that
the device add/delete/balance/replace/resize operations are
started in parallel. By mistake, the defragmentation operation
was included in the check for mutually exclusiveness as well.
This is fixed with this commit.

[PATCH v2] Btrfs: return error when we specify wrong start to defrag
We need such a sanity check for wrong start when we defrag a file, otherwise,
even with a wrong start that''s larger than file size, we can end up changing
not only inode''s force compress flag but also FS''s incompat flags.
