[memdisk] collision between memdisk and emm386 (FreeDOS)
Hi
I'm using memdisk as part of CD Shell' isolinux. I've created custom floppy
disk image 8440kB size. I've put FreeDOS kernel and bootsector into the
floppy. Boot process goes fine with this command:
isolinux /boot/memdisk initrd=/ximg/fdos.img c=60 h=8 s=36 floppy
The problems begin when I try to run FreeDOS memory manager emm386 from the
floppy image.

Really Weird Question.....
So I just got ahold of an old e-Machine (Model EL1600) with 1GB of
memory. I was going to install CEntOS on it and try to run VirtualBox
for other OS'es. I am curious to know if I have to stick with the 2GB
"max" the specs say the machine can take or if its possible to install a
4GB module that is designed the same? In other words I have seen 2GB DDR
PC2700 memory that will fit

Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility - mini-pci wireless card 1390
Is there any way I can find a driver and/or get the above wireless card
working in CentOS 5 on my Dell laptop (Inspiron 1501). I've installed
ipw2200 from RPMForge, but it now appears that this won't work because
the card is not an Intel PRO/Wireless card. Dell seem to support only MS
Windows Vista now so I don't think there's much chance of getting a
driver from them - so am I on

OpenSSH on PalmOS possible?
A thought has been bugging me for a month or so, but I don't know where to
look for the answer. Would it be possible to port the OpenSSH ssh client to
PalmOS and other handheld OS'es like Symbian (EPOC) or PocketPC?
Is the processor on PDA's fast enough? Would many libraries have to be
ported aswell? I know that PalmOS and EPOC has an IP stack implemented..

(no subject)
Hi,
I have just changed OS'es from ES3 to CentOS. Is this the correct list to
find out about updates available for centOS?
With ES3 I received an update email with the regular and security updates
available and would run up2date. Now, I have yum and am not familiar with
how updates are sent about centOS.
Thanks!
Sincerely,

Why can't I save/restore block devices?
Hello everybody,
I'd like to save/restore some partitions on my harddrive via rsync.
(They happen to contain other os'es, so I can't safely mount the partitions
read/write).
So, I'd like to do something like
rsync /dev/hda1 server::images/part_1.image -c -z -B65536 -S
but:
- "skipping non-regular file part_1" is misleading. Not the destination is not

mini-PCI FXS card?
Is there any product that's a single port mini-PCI FXS card?
I'm aware of the Openvox A400M
<http://www.openvox.com.cn/products.php?genre_id=39>, but I really only
wanted one port.
How about a single or dual port PCI or PCI express FXS card?
Basically I wanted to build a small linux router with one or two phone
ports.
Alternatively, is there already a router or single board

[PATCH supermin] init: Add a blacklist of kmods that we want to exclude from the mini initrd.
We want to exclude virtio-gpu since it's irrelevant, large, and pulls
in other unwanted dependencies (modeswitching, drm). Add a second
list of kmods which is a blacklist, applied after the first.
This reduces the libguestfs initrd size from 39M down to 17M, with
concomitant small reductions in boot time.

Award BIOS fault
Hello.
I found bug probably comes from BIOS fault.
It does not boot from CDROM if the PC has only CDROM drive but no HDD.
I mean, it can boot from CDROM if the PC has HDD but not boot if no HDD.
I think BIOS returns wrong info. But I appriciate if there comes workaround.
BTW, I got another problem -- I can not compile syslinux 3.07.
What version of nasm you use?

Unclear if we want this. Someone with the same vendor/subvendor pci
ids didn't have any issues with nouveau at all:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1327624
[they had other issues though]
Not sure if this will do more harm than good.
