Getting past "net unreachable" message(s)
My Shorewall installation was working great until yesterday when it started logging ''REJECT'' to packets that tried to cross the firewall to the internet. I tried to work past the firewall by entering "shorewall clear" but I still can''t get past the gateway / firewall machine. Does this mean the NIC is damaged? When Shorewall is running I can navigate

Simple networking problem - DNS
Hi, I have spent a fair amount of time trying to solve this problem and tried things like disabling checksums etc. The problem is like this: 1. I boot my dom0 without xend running and I can resolve and ping google. 2. I start xend (without and domU domains up) and after a while I can no longer resolve domain names, but I can ping the public IP addresses. 3. I start up a domU (xm create -c xyz)

static wins entries -- entries change after restart of corresponding Samba server
I am trying to use static wins entries, as stated in the Official Samba Howto Collection. One Samba server (VServer) is with wins service enabled. Another (Server1) is not, but it has the wins server in its smb.conf. When I set wins.dat at VServer: "SERVER1#00" 0 192.168.6.231 192.168.1.231 66R "SERVER1#03" 0 192.168.6.231 192.168.1.231 66R "SERVER1#20" 0

Winbind/Samba + sshd incorrect groups
I'm currently running it on a test server (before I roll it out to our 6 live Linux box's) And its starting to drag on and drive me mad. O/S: RedHat 7.1 Samba: 2.2.3a Ive got the whole system working nearly perfectly, as samba uses the 'MMGROUP+Domain Users' as the primary group, I wanted to restrict who can use SSH and samba on the workstations. So I created a specific group

Rift Seemingly can't patch.
I have been using wine for a grand total of 24 hours so am a little bit clueless, so please forgive me if this is actually something simple. I've installed wine using the commands from here http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks in the Ubuntu terminal and I've installed Winetricks, and I've got it to put in the three things from this post :http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=10959.

Compatibility with NetApp DataONTAP filers?
Good ${time of the day} I have just been wondering if anyone would know if Samba is compatible with the CIFS implementation of the Network Appliance DataONTAP filers? http://www.netapp.com/products/filer/ontap.html I have so far unable to connect to any shared folder on the NetApp filer that require authentication. [LLVMdev] RE: Ticket #7559: FW: Bradfields/PCJF-10959
Great! Could you please add a /localhome directory to each of them? Since there are 2 disks per machine, perhaps the best thing to do would to make /localhome a real directory and make separate local directories on each disk, so that we can each do something like this: /localhome/vadve -> /mounts/seraph/disks/0/localhome/vadve /localhome/lattner ->

Minimal build of R ...
Hi, I'm trying to cross-compile R to javascript so that it can run in a web-browser. Take as long as you need to stop laughing. So, as I was saying - I want to try and get a build of R running in the browser. [If you're not familiar with it already, you might enjoy looking at emscripten.org. It's a remarkably capable tool for translating LLVM bitcode to javascript. Check out some of

telling app to use middleware in gem
I have a gem, and part of the gem is a piece of rack middleware. In Rails 2.3, I could make the gem set up the middleware without adding anything to config/*.rb in the app. I did this with the following line: ActionController::Dispatcher.middleware.use ''MyMiddleware'' But in Rails 3, this doesn''t work. I''ve tried putting the following into the gem''s
