Folder Sync for road warriors in a Samba 4.8.x setup?
Hi All, I know this isn't really a Samba question per se but I'm looking for some samba-related advice.. :) I have a very small AD DC setup (5 users) and some end-users (read: teenargers) are now using laptops, which means they don't always have access to the network shares configured by GPO and Logon scripts from the Samba servers when they take the laptop to school. (The Samba

Bridging Firewall with windows OpenVPN road warriors?
I have previously set up an openvpn LAN to LAN bridging VPN so I know a little about what has to happen. The gateways on either ends were running older version of shorewall that did not support openvpn directly so I just basically opened ports for it and used bridging with tap interfaces. I am no longer using that vpn link to the other house but now that i''ve upgraded I would like

Samba and VPN Road Warrior setup
Hi, I have setup a Linux + FreeS/WAN VPN firewall/gateway to provide Out-of-Office access. I have used DHCP to provide a small subnet block of Internal IPs for use by the external VPN Road Warriors, (All running XP with SSH Sentinel), on their Virtual network interfaces, and the VPN gateway performs ARP proxy on the internal interface so packets go to the right place. No NAT is performed on this

multiple VPN zones
Hi, I had a look at this page which describes a single VPN zone called "vpn": http://www.shorewall.net/IPSEC-2.6.html Is this the most current information? It is the top page found by Google for "shorewall ipsec" Is there any information about setting up multiple VPN zones for different classes of road warrior? E.g. lets say there are two classes of road warrior:

IPSEC, multiple subnets and multiple road warriors, oh my! :)
Hi all, I''ve been using Shorewall 1.42 for a month on two firewalls at work and my own personal colocated server and love it. While pretty familiar with iptables, I don''t like dealing with it on a daily basis, and Shorewall certainly makes life easier. I''ve deployed Shorewall on both our Toronto and Ottawa office firewalls, and have configured a FreeS/WAN IPSEC

Hi I have an issue with XP PRO laptop users that use their laptops to login locally on the LAN and also remotely via a VPN connection at night/weekends. After logging in remotely the next time they login locally on the LAN they experience extreme slowness with opening applications such as Word, printing and browsing print queues etc. The problem appears to be that the entry for their

Netbios over VPN
I am attempting to utilize BackupPC on a Fedora 14 server to backup a remote client. As I understand, it's primary mechanism for finding clients is performing a nmblookup <clientname> This works fine for computers connected to the local network. My issue is extending ?Samba's? search to encompass our other network - the point-to-point VPNs Using OpenVPN, we have a number of road

[LLVMdev] problem using LTO
Hello, I down loaded "llvm-gcc4.2-2.7-x86_64-linux" and I built Spec2006 with it. It is great and except for one benchmark the rest work fine. I want to build them with LTO now. I followed the directions in " http://llvm.org/docs/GoldPlugin.html" and built ar, nm-new, and ld-new in binutils. I also built libLLVMgold.so. I get the following error: llvm-gcc: -use-gold-plugin,

Error initializing flac stream decoder.
Thanks for that email. The one lihe change I made is this : from #define FLAC__MAX_RICE_PARTITION_ORDER (15u) to #define FLAC__MAX_RICE_PARTITION_ORDER (6u) and that seemed to make decoder_new() happy, but it's promptly crashing after making a call to the read callback (below), then to the meta callback. The meta callback did nothing but print a string and return. I removed it, and

I changed just the FLAC__EntropyCodingMethod_PartitionedRice struct, but it hasn't changed a thing. I'm still getting the same behaviour. typedef struct { unsigned order; unsigned parameters[1 << 6]; unsigned raw_bits[1 << 6]; } FLAC__EntropyCodingMethod_PartitionedRice; Any other thoughts? Putting two CPU-intensive, time-sensitive applications on one machine is asking for trouble. It may work, though, if you don't have too many simultaneous users. > I was considering

Best VPN server for * and woad warriors using windows?
Hi list! I'm sure the topic has been discussed but I could not find what I was looking for. What would be the best / easiest VPN software solution. I would like to install vpn software on the * server for roadwarriors to connect to with laptops running windows. Ideally the vpn solution will not require any additional software on the client side but will use IPSEC. (Ofcourse call quality

I've cross-compiled flac for the armv4l processor (rio receiver), and i'm trying to start up a decode thread : #include <FLAC/stream_decoder.h> .... FLAC__StreamDecoder *flac = NULL; flac = FLAC__stream_decoder_new(); if (flac == NULL) { printf("[DECODE] Unable to initalize flac object\n");

[LLVMdev] LLVM and Spec2006
Hi Reza, -O4 is the highest level of LLVM optimization that I know of. But, I don't know if it has been tried on Spec2006. IIRC, Dan Gohman has run Spec. tests with LLVM, so he can provide more info. - fariborz On Jul 19, 2010, at 6:06 PM, Reza Yazdani wrote: > Hi, > > What are the best options to compile Spec2006 with LLVM compilers to > get the best performance numbers
