[Not Subcribed] Two-Interface sample file version - 2.0.1
Hello, I''ve "emerged" Shorewall 2.0.7 onto my Gentoo pc. Going through the 2 interface quickstart guide I download the 2.0.1 interface sample and untar it. "tar -zxvf two-interfaces.tgz" Maybe a dumb question but I can''t find anything on Google or the Shorewall mail archives that say anything about this. So I''m assuming its me. :P But the

Open source firmware on an ATA
Does anyone know of an ATA which has a modifieable (open source) firmware AND that supports faxing. Granted most of them don't do faxing well but that is more of a problem with the network side. On purpose slow copy support?
I'd like to use rsync on a production box that has a great deal of memory-cached filesystem in use at all times. Is there any way, or any other tool, that will do a "slow" copy? purposefully not busting the cache by copying things as fast as possible? "nice" does not work, of course, as that is a cpu scheduling control. What I want is basically lowest-priority or

Spotty internet connection
How do you IT guys diagnose the problem with a spotty internet connection? Just spent an hour on the phone with TWC/Spectrum. Of course they don't see anything wrong with their service. They send me to speedtest.net. The first attempt, the page didn't fully load, the second attempt, the page didn't load at all, the third attempt, it loaded. On a 20/2MB line I get 24.83/2.47MB. The

Primustel a.k.a. Lingo $20/month unlimited service
Hi all, I just saw this article about this new offer from Lingo.com: http://www.techweb.com/wire/story/TWB20040607S0008 $20 monthly plan with unlimited local and long-distance calling in North America (US & Canada) and Western Europe. Plus first three months free and free equipment. It doesn't say what hardware they send you. Sounds like a very good deal. I searched the list and

Speakeasy VOIP + Asterisk?
Has anyone tried getting Speakeasy VOIP to work with Asterisk? I just got Speakeasy DSL and am thinking of trying out their VOIP [1] with the hope that the quality/stability will be better than broadvoice. I searched in the usual places (voip-info.org, the asterisk users mailing list archives [2], dslreports.com) and couldn't find anything. Any other places I should look? Thanks, Simon

Livevoip 800 Choppy Audio
I just signed up with livevoip for 800 DID and have very choppy audio. From PSTN to my asterisk is ok but asterisk to PSTN is terrible. I am using IAX and was assigned to server iax01.nyc.*. I do not believe it is a bandwidth problem on my end and I have no problems using iax with gafachi. I opened a ticket with livevoip but no response yet. Would I be better off using sip with them? Is there

VoIP Termination w/ 402 or 712 area code?
I realize this is a shot in the dark, but I'm trying to find a VoIP provider that offers 402 or 712 area code DID numbers. I'm almost completely convinced that no one offers these area codes (eastern Nebraska, western Iowa), however considering the wide audience of this mailing list I thought this would be a good place to ask. I would prefer a provider that allows for Asterisk use, but I

Beeps and noises during calls
I have a very annoying problem that we hear on our end, but the other party doesn't hear. There are random beeps and echo type noises that occur. They are present during voicemails, and present on my end during calls. Is anyone experiencing the same deal? I have asked this a number of ways on the list, and never get a response... Thank you. Voicepulse Open Access & Asterisk Problems
I can't seem to dial out with Voicepulse Open Access service using *. Incoming works fine. Another user posted a few weeks back that they were having problems and there are some threads at dslreports.com about this as well. Maybe someone here can figure out what the issue is from the sip debug info below. I am at a loss. The audible error message from Allison is 0984 (from VP server) Here is

another Icecast2/Vorbis test stream
Greetings: Yes, I've placed another test stream on-line. Thanks to the feedback from members of this list, I've taken a few extra steps. 1) According to DSLReports, my uplink today is 137 kbps. It may actually be a little faster, they say that Netscape's reporting is skewed (and I use Netscape). 2) Thus, I've prepared a set of Ogg files encoded with -b 24 to fit my
