Error invalid graphics state using text()
I'm using ssplot for drawing a map of Austria and colour the nine provinces regarding their share of employment. Now I wanted to add the figures in each province and failed miserably. Using the locator() and text() function caused the error message "invalid graphics state". I try to show you what I have done below, maybe you can find a general fault in my codes. I know that it's

Receive "unable to load shared object RNetCDF.o" during R INSTALL of RNetCDF
On a Red Hat Linux cluster I am seeing the following after multiple other packages were successfully installed. The error seems to suggest that RNetCDF.o was not copied to the appropriate lib folder. The admin user performing the install has the required privileges to perform the install. Words of wisdom are greatly appreciated: R CMD INSTALL

SpatialPolygon with the max value gets no color assigned in spplot function when using "at" parameter
Hi, I would like to do coloring of map regions based on the region values "weight". The approach I am taking is first to break regions into equal intervals, classIntervals(spdf$weight,4)$brks #4 intervals in this case and coloring all regions within the interval with the same color col = brewer.pal(4,"RdYlGn")) The max "weight" is as well the boundary of the

wrong fill colors in polygon-map
Dear all, I would like to produce a map with information about the patenting activity in German districts, by coloring districts with different degrees of patenting activity in different colors. I work with the packages maptools, maps and spdep. The map data is read from an external .shp file (+ the corresponding .shx and .dbf files). Plotting a map with the IDs or the patenting indicator itself

R v2.1.1 for Windows and "non-reproducible" crashes
Hi, R v2.1.1 patched (2005-05-26) for Windows crashes. The sympotoms are like "memory leakage". The patched version from two days ago crashes at a different position in R CMD check compared to todays version. A "REPRODUCIBLE" EXAMPLE: Unfortunately, I cannot create a minimal code example reproducing the crash, but here is at least a simple way to reproduce it: 1. Make

Helping out - simple bugs to help familiarize with R design, source, etc
Hi All, Well I finally have found the time to get svn working and I have successfully built my own tuned atlas (multi-threaded version) libs and have both the r-devel and r-patched trees building daily on my box. The problem is I still do not have a good idea of the layout and design of R, and typically I "learn by doing" by trying to fix a bug that hits me. Unfortunately ;-)

Spare some CPU cycles for testing lme?
If anyone has a few extra CPU cycles to spare, I'd appreciate it if you could verify a problem that I have encountered. Run the code below and tell me if it crashes your R before completion. library(lme4) data(bdf) dump<-sapply( 1:50000, function(i) { fm <- lme(langPOST ~ IQ.ver.cen + avg.IQ.ver.cen, data = bdf, random = ~ IQ.ver.cen | schoolNR); cat("

I have an R script that I run using nohup R CMD BATCH r.in r.out & The code loops through data from the database and takes hours. Dear Rxperts, Below is a small sample of values (cut short due to space considerations while posting).. I was wondering if it is possible to construct boundaries (or intervals) based on the distribution of points. Is it anything similar to boundary detection of distributions? x1 <-

MacOSX 10.4.11 update breaks tests/lapack.R (R 2.6.0)? (PR#10454)
Hello, It seems the recent Mac OS X 10.4.11 update installed a new libBLAS.dylib in the Accelerate framework which either contains a bug itself or exposes a bug somewhere in R's lapack code on the PowerPC G4 and G5. My build of R 2.6.0 executed the tests/lapack.R code succesfully when I upgraded when 2.6.0 was released. After the OS update, it now crashes. This happens both with the version I

zip.unpack() crashes R (PR#2818)
Full_Name: Henrik Bengtsson Version: R v1.7.0 OS: WinXP Pro Submission from: (NULL) (130.235.2.229) There seems to be an upper limit of the number of files (approx 1000 files) a zip-file can contain when unpacking it with zip.unpack(). This results in an R crash. This bug is urgent since install.packages() relies on zip.unpack() and too big packages/bundles won't install with the current R

help color coding map in R

I need help getting the state colors to match the ranges outlined in the legend. I have tried ordering the mean amounts and this correctly creates

Intermittent crashes with inset `[<-` command
The following code crashes after about 300 iterations on my?x86_64-w64-mingw32?machine on R 3.5.2 --vanilla.?? Others have duplicated this (see?https://github.com/tidyverse/magrittr/issues/190?if necessary), but I don't know how machine/OS-dependent it may be.?? If it doesn't crash for you, please try increasing the length of the x vector. Substituting the commented-out line for the one
