Question about checkTmvArgs function in rtmvnorm (package tmvtnorm)
Hello! I was wondering if it's possible to see the actual code of checkTmvArgs function that is part of the code for rtmvnorm (which is below - I just typed "rtmvnorm" on the prompt). I get an error: Error in checkTmvArgs(mean, sigma, lower, upper) : sigma must be a symmetric matrix At the same time I am pretty sure that the matrix I am passing as sigma is a var-covar matrix

Problem with shared library and lapack under windows
Hi all, I have a C function, say Cfun, that calls Lapack's DGEMM routine and I need to create a shared library to use Cfun inside R. The C file is the following #include<stdio.h> #include<R.h> #include<R_ext/Lapack.h> void Cfun(double *res, double *X, int *n, int *q) { char *ptr_TRANSA, TRANSA='T', *ptr_TRANSB, TRANSB='N'; ptr_TRANSA=&TRANSA;

help debugging segfaults
(Sorry for the cross-post--- I wasn't sure which list is more appropriate...) Hi everyone, I've run into segfaults when using my randomForest package on large dataset (e.g., 100 x 15200) and large number of trees (e.g., ntree=7000 and mtry=3000). I'm wondering if anyone can give me some hints on where to look for the problem. The randomForest package mainly consists of two things:

How to write the same things as `opt` command in C++ API
Hi, I'm Ryo Ota. I'm using LLVM 3.8.1. I have a quesion about inlining function in C++ API. I'd like to inline some functions in a module in the same way as `opt -inline` command. But my C++ code didn't work what I want to do. For example, by using `opt -inline` command,`main.ll` is converted into the `inlined.ll`(`opt` command worked what I want to do) [main.ll (Not inlined)]

can't find array overruns (was: help debugging segfaults)
Dear R-devel, Last week I got several responses to my question about debugging segfaults in my code (original post below). After I changed the S_alloc() calls to Calloc()/Free(), the symptom was gone, but I was told to keep looking. So I did: o Switched to Calloc/Free. Electric Fence did not find any problem. o Put assert(index < bound); assert(index >=0); everywhere in the C routine

[WISH / PATCH] possibility to split string literals across multiple lines
Mark, that's actually a fair statement, although your extra operator doesn't cause construction at parse time. You still call paste0(), but just add an extra layer on top of it. I also doubt that even in gigantic loops the benefit is going to be significant. Take following example: atestfun <- function(x){ y <- paste0("a very long", "string for

Questions on the R C API
Hi All, I have some questions regarding the R C API. Let's assume I have a function which is defined as follows: R file: myfunc <- function(a, b, ...) .External(Cfun, a, b, ...) C file: SEXP Cfun(SEXP args) { args = CDR(args); SEXP a = CAR(args); args = CDR(args); SEXP b = CAR(args); args = CDR(args); /* continue to do something with remaining arguments in "..."

Questions on the R C API
Thank you for your reply Jiefei. I think in theory your solution should work. I'll have to give them a try. Solving an integral in R gives the error “The integral is probably divergent”
I am trying to solve an integral in R. However, I am getting an error when I am trying to solve for that integral. The equation that I am trying to solve is as follows: $$ C_m = \frac{{abs{x}}e^{2x}}{\pi^{1/2}}\int_0^t t^{-3/2}e^{-x^2/t-t}dt $$ [image: enter image description here] The code that I am using is as follows: a <- seq(from=-10, by=0.5,length=100) ## Create a function to compute

Annoteting graphs using text
Dear All, I am new to R and am trying to learn how to create functions using R. Below is code which calculates Lin's Concordance Coefficient. After I calculate the coefficient I want to create a scatter plot which annotates the coefficient along with preceding text onto the plot. The below code doesn't seem to work. If I use only the object 'lincc' on the text command it works

On compiling for x86_64 on an i386...
Hi folks, Anyway, I have a main development system which is P4 based (without EM64T) and a dozen diskless Athlon 64's. I'd like to be able to compile kernel's, etc for the Athlons in x86_64 bit mode. Any idea how to arrange this? I've recompiled the src.rpm for binutils (added a single line "CARGS=--enable-targets=x86_64-linux" to the specfile) and "as

Concordance Index - interpretation
Hello everyone. This is a question regarding generation of the concordance index (c index) in R using the function rcorr.cens. In particular about interpretation of its direction and form of the 'predictor'. One of the arguments is a "numeric predictor variable" ( presumably this is just a *single* predictor variable). Say this variable takes numeric values.... Am I

Extract concordance from coxph.object
Dear all, As I said in my previous email I have just upgraded to R 2.14.0 on Windows 7. I have just run the 'coxph' function and notice that a Concordance statistic is produced. Is there any way to extract this information from the output? E.g. can I call the concordance value independently of calling the output? Many thanks, Laura [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

rcorrp.cens
Hi R-users, I'm having some problems in using the Hmisc package. I'm estimating a cox ph model and want to test whether the drop in concordance index due to omitting one covariate is significant. I think (but I'm not sure) here are two ways to do that: 1) predict two cox model (the full model and model without the covariate of interest) and estimate the concordance index (i.e. area

passing command line arguments to 'R CMD BATCH myScript.R'
Hi Community, I have a question about how to pass command line parameters to R script running in the batch mode. The problem is: there is a banch of data files which are to be processed by R script called from a web-server, i.e. in the batch mode. The web server generates data files and passes their names calling 'R CMD BATCH' one by one for every file. Now the question is how to

Hi I have the feeling, that the argument stringsAsFactors has no impact in the function expand.grid: a <- c("PR", "NC", "A2", "BS") b <- c(1, 0.5, 0.25, 0.125, 0.0625, 0.03125) class(expand.grid(css, fscs, stringsAsFactors=FALSE)[[1]]) [1] "factor" class(expand.grid(css, fscs, stringsAsFactors=TRUE)[[1]]) [1] "factor" Also, when

concordance correlation coefficient using R
Hi. I have data which i would want to assess the degree of agreement between two assays, e.g., to evaluate reproducibility or for inter-rater reliability. I have used the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. It looks good ranginging between 0.90 to 0.998. Though this looks good. I am told the Concordance correlation coefficient will give a better picture of how reproducible the assay
