Running R embedded in an mpiexec spawned process - Fatal error: you must specify '--save', '--no-save' or '--vanilla'
I'd like someone familiar with the R options initialization to comment on a difference of behavior within/without mpiexec
I have a (.NET) application with embedded R that is proven to run in a single process:
./Sample1.exe
on a Debian Linux with R 3.0.2
Running the same code with mpiexec, it fails at the R engine initialization:
mpiexec -n 1 ./Sample1.exe

Embedded R Fails When Run on LSF Queue System
Hi,
I had a quick question I was hoping someone might be able to answer, as my journey through the source code so far has not been very profitable. I have a command line program that embeds R, and the program works just fine when run from the command line. However, when I run the program as a job in the LSF cluster at my institute, the following error occurs:

Minor inconsistencies in tools:::funAPI()
Hi all,
I've noticed some peculiarities in the tools:::funAPI output that
complicate its programmatic use a bit.
- Is it for remapped symbol names (with Rf_ or the Fortran
underscore), or for unmapped names (without Rf_ or the underscore)?
I see that the functions marked in WRE are almost all (except
Rf_installChar and Rf_installTrChar) unmapped. This makes a lot of
sense because some

R_ParseVector problem: it's cutting off after the decimal point
Dear all,
my aim is to integrate R in an interactive visualisation software
called Bulk Analyzer developed by VrVis (http://www.vrvis.at).
the code:
SEXP e, tmp;
ParseStatus status;
PROTECT(tmp = mkString("x <- c(1.234,-3.45)"));
PrintValue(tmp);
PROTECT(e = R_ParseVector(tmp, -1, &status, R_NilValue));
PrintValue(e);
UNPROTECT(2);
produces the following output:

Rf_initEmbeddedR in Windows
Hi All
My C++/linux program uses Rf_initEmbeddedR to start R and then calls some
R functions. Now I try to port it to Windows. Give the fact that
Rf_initEmbeddedR is missing in Windows, I try to use the implmentation in
Rserve by Simon Urbanek. When I build in MS Visual Studio, I get the
following linking error

Callbacks seems to get GCed.
Dear list,
I am trying to implement a publish-subscribe mechanism in for an embedded
R interpreter. But somehow my registered closures seem to get collected by
the GC, even though I have protected them. I have reducted my code to the
following sample. Sorry if it is a little verbose.
The first couple of call of calls still work, but at some point one of the
callbacks (callback1 in my

Running an expression 1MN times using embedded R
Hello,
I'm evaluating this expression

a million times from a program with R embedded in it. I have attached
reproducible code that crashes with

R.DLL mapping by P/Invoke
After a long processing, I was able to create a version of a small C# class
that was able to emulate the rproxy by P/Invoke. This is mostly to find a
workaround a performance problem of the StatConnector.
It's almost work but ... I have strange memory exception when I call the
print function. The variable seems to not survive from one call to the
other.
As there is no debug symbol for

Problem with initializiing R main loop under Windows (R.dll-version: 2.15.1)
Dear R-developers,
even though I may not be the first one to encounter the problem
described below, I would really appreciate some help or a link to a
forum where this topic is being discussed. Probably I am simply
misinformed on the usage of structRstart but see for youselve.
I did check multiple forums and the whole internet on the topic without
success.
I am using the shared library version

Minor inconsistencies in tools:::funAPI()
Hi Ivan
Can you please clarify what input files should be used with your
proposed function? I tried a few files in r-svn/src/include and one of
them gave me an error.

Using R.dll in .NET IPC
Hi - I wrapped R.dll up using somebody code online (see below). I am comparing R on .NET IPC with R(D)COM.
I got it all working. Except, I realize that in my client code of the IPC remoting, if I call 'plot' function in R via EvaluateNoReturn, I don't seem to see any results on the R plot window (although the window pops up). Is there anything to do with the code of R.dll wrapper

Question on the R's C stack limit
Dear r-devel members,
I encountered a C stack limit issue, when I tried to embed R 2.5 into my
application. In the R-exts document, it says:"Note that R's own front ends
use a stack size of 10Mb". I desire to know: is it possible to decrease this
stack size
by modifying R's source code? If it's possible, which part of the source
code is responsible for the issue?
Thank

Why hostkeys-00@openssh.com is following user authentication?
Hello,
This hostkeys extension is great, reading[1]:
"""
OpenSSH supports a protocol extension allowing a server to inform a
client of all its protocol v.2 host keys after user-authentication has
completed.
"""
I wonder, why should user authentication be completed before this
functionality is available? This means that ssh-keyscan tool (for
example) cannot take

linking to R.dll on Win32 - issues with recent MinGW?
I encountered several strange issues when linking to R.dll on Windows
and I wonder if anyone of the Windows savvy-folks here had seen some of
the issues before and have some explanation.
My Rserve links to R dynamic library. That works perfectly on unix
boxes and worked fairly well with older MinGW and older R (<=1.7.1).
What I do in fact is that I specify
-L$(R_HOME)/bin -lR
when linking.
