Storage of byte code-compiled functions in sysdata.rda
Thanks, Luke, for having a look to it. Sure, I can give you some reproducible example -- even in two degrees of completeness ;-): see below. Thanks again, Peter %----------------------------------- (I) first example %----------------------------------- Just to reproduce the error, on r-devel, try: install.packages("RobAStRDA") require(RobAStRDA) getFromNamespace(".RMXE", ns

Storage of byte code-compiled functions in sysdata.rda
I can't reproduce the more complex version. But the package on CRAN fails in the same way on 3.2.3 and 3.3.0. The problem is that your sysdata.rda includes a function that is generating this error. If you do f <- getFromNamespace(".RMXE", ns ="RobAStRDA")[["GEVFamily"]][["fun.N"]][[1]] g <- get("fct", environment(f)) and look at the

bug: Editing function formals deletes the environment
First, here's the specific bug I have. Later I'll say why I care. > ls(zappo) Error in try(name) : object "zappo" not found # good. > f = function(zappo) { function(y) zappo + y } > g = f(1) > g(1) [1] 2 > formals(g) $y > formals(g)$y > formals(g)$y = 2 > g function (y = 2) zappo + y > g(1) Error in g(1) : object "zappo" not found

eliminating GNU Make features in include/Makefile.am

lattice: how to get 'lattice.theme'
I'm using lattice 0.14. As of version 0.5 the Changes says there is a global list called 'lattice.theme'. How can I access this? I have tried many ways, including options(lattice.theme) lattice.getOption("lattice.theme") get("lattice.theme", envir = .LatticeEnv) getFromNamespace("lattice.theme", "lattice")

getting panel.loess to use updated version of loess.smooth
I'm updating the loess routines to allow for, among other things, arbitrary local polynomial degree and number of predictors. For now, I've given the updated package its own namespace. The trouble is, panel.loess still calls the original code in package:stats instead of the new loess package, regardless of whether package:loess or package:lattice comes first in the search list. If I

strange behaviour of importFrom directive in name space
Dear listers, After activating the name space for my bioconductor package (prada) I successfully ran R CMD check. However when loading the package in R and running the examples the imported function brewer.pal from package RColorBrewer is not found. I can directly call brewer.pal from the RColorBrewer name space typing RColorBrewer::brewer.pal, but it is not imported into my prada name space. When

Hi, On Windows, with last R-devel tarball (r40647) from ftp://ftp.stat.math.ethz.ch/Software/R/R-devel_2007-02-04.tar.gz I get the following build error: E:\biocbld\bbs-2.0-bioc\R\src\gnuwin32> make ... ... ---------- Making package utils ------------ adding build stamp to DESCRIPTION installing NAMESPACE file and metadata installing R files Error in namespaceExport(ns, exports) :

do.call method within namespace
How does one go about invoking a method within a namespaced package if that package has not been loaded via library method? Given "mypackage" and method "foo" within: mypackage::foo(1, 2, 3) Executing the same method's function call: do.call("foo", list(1, 2, 3)) didn't work. Nor did the following: do.call("mypackage::foo", list(1, 2,

namespace magic
I'm confused about name spaces. This morning I installed the boot package because I wanted to look at bca.ci. So I did library(boot), but then I had, > bca.ci Error: Object "bca.ci" not found I had a look in the boot R directory and bca.ci was there as expected. So then I took a look at the NAMESPACE file for the boot package and saw that bca.ci wasn't exported. I tried

Error in nls Error in if(any(start < low || start > upp)) {: missing value when TRUE/FALSE needed
Hi, I got this error every time when I put upper and lower bound on my parameters in nls. I'm not quite sure what this error is about. I also wanted to find the content of nls_port_fit. But typing this directly into R doesn't seem to give any result out. I also tried to see the content of If anybody could shed some light I'd greatly appreciate. Thank you. rc

Ploting rpart objects / namespace problems
I've written a small adaptation of the text.rpart function of the rpart package to better suite my tree presentation needs (I basically left the code untouched, only changing some numbers relating to label positioning). When I changed to version 1.7.0 this function stopped working printing the error : couldn't find function "rpartco" As far as I understand this has to do

Shiny App inside R Package
Dear List, I have a wrapper function that creates a Shiny App, as illustrated below. I'd like to include the function myApp() inside a package. I'd appreciate your guidance here, as I could not find good instructions on this online. myApp <- function(x) { require(shiny) shinyApp( ui = fluidPage( sidebarLayout( sidebarPanel(sliderInput("n",

Makefile fix for tarball compilation
Hello all, I'm trying to compile the 2.6.5 tarball on a non-developer system (a freshly installed OpenIndiana zone). Right away the make failed due to revision checks (fixed below) due to missing git and svn software (and for make, a failed step fails everything). The fix is to catch the non-zero return codes and just successfully set an empty string. Barring this, the default

Mongrel 0.3.6 -- Win32 Service/Rails Real Good
Hello Folks, This release of Mongrel should make the win32 folks go crazy. Thanks to Luis Lavena it supports a full service system for installing any Rails app as a service. This lets you start your rails apps from either the command line or the Service console. Stopping is still a bit problematic but we hope to have that solved in the next release. You win32 folks should probably send Luis

[LLVMdev] Removing contention in PassRegistry accesses to speed up compiles
Hi, We use LLVM libraries to compile C++ code and noticed slow downs when multiple threads of a process were compiling at once. *perf *indicated that most of the CPU time was spent in a spin lock, which was being locked/unlocked from llvm::PassRegistry::getPassInfo(). We read the relevant LLVM code and found out that PassRegistry is a ManagedStatic and is shared among all threads in case of a

Patch -- SVN revision in the version string
This is the patch to include SVN revision level in version number displays. There should be two enclosures; the patch itself and a new source file. common/upsversion.c. upversion.c defines a single function. upsversion(), that returns a version string for display. Some Makefile trickery ensures that this file will be recompiled whenever the project's SVN revision level has changed since it

[nut-commits] svn commit r1207 - in trunk: . include
