Using dll with Visual Studio Compiler
Hi, I have created a dll in Fortran and used the Visual Studio 2005 Compiler. I've read that certain problems can arise based on the compiler used and that these problems can sometimes cause R not to be able to access everything appropriately, but I've not found how to fix any of these problems. Specifically, after using dyn.load, I know the dll has been loaded because it is listed in

Testing R packages on Solaris Studio
I have setup a Solaris server to test packages before submitting to CRAN, in order to catch problems that might not reveal themselves on Fedora, Debian, OSX or Windows. The machine runs a Solaris 11.2 vm with Solaris Studio 12.3. I was able to compile current r-devel using the suggested environment variables from "R Installation and Administration" and: ./configure

"Pursuit of Happiness" ? Are you sure ?
I always kind of liked this title (the title of Davids super Rails presentation), but then I saw this quote today: "The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you''ll never find it." by C.P Snow I''d have to agree with this quote. It''s the same as love... go looking for it, and you''ll never find it. Soooo... David,

Installing DLL elsewhere than in \libs?
Hello, Its a couple of days I am fighting with this problem, and cannot find a solution. I need to compile a DLL that is not directly used by R, but must be installed elsewhere (it is indeed part of a Tcl/Tk package). So, I want to install it in /tklibs/tkpackage/alib.dll (under Windows) in my compiled package. I do manage to compile it in /src, but cannot copy it at the right place. I

Scatterplot3d :: Rotating x tick labels by x degrees
Hi Alex, this should be related to the "las" argument of "par()" but actually it does not seem to be parametered in scatterplot3d. Searching the net for "scatterplot3d las" provides a link to: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25458652/specifying-the-orientation-of-the-axes-labels-in-scatterplot3d You may try the solution that is provided in this link or consider

R-loadable dll with minGW-compiled linked library
I am trying to create a dynamic library (dll) for loading into R with dyn.load command. I am trying to use the library libdai (a machine learning C++ library) and boost (C++ libraries) in my main C++ program. While I am able to compile the main C++ file I am using successfully into a dll, there is a problem linking to libraries (libdai.a) and boost libraries. I only have instructions on how to

correct wording and notation for R stuff in LaTex
Hi R Gurus: I'm putting together an article about some R stuff in Latex. I refer to packages and functions. I think that I use {\em} for packages and {\tt} for functions. Is that correct, please? Thank you in advance! Sincerely, Edna Bell

Can you point to a specific good on-line guide for me? Regards

Include C++ DLL, error in ...: C symbol name not in load table
Hello R experts I am googling and reading around, however, I can't get it working (perhaps because I do not understand much C, however, I'll give it a try). I am trying to include C++ code into an R routine, where the C++ code looks: #include <iostream> using namespace std; void foo (double* x, double* y, double* out) { out[0] = x[0] + y[0]; } Back in R, the command R CMD

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems
Hi, I have written a small C++ function and compile it. However in R I can't see the function I have defined in C++. I have read some web-pages about Rcpp and C++ but it is a bit confusion for me. Anyway, This is the C++-code: #include <Rcpp.h> using namespace Rcpp; // [[Rcpp::export]] List compute_values_cpp(int totalPoints = 1e5, double angle_increment = 0.01, int radius =
