IAX2 Max Retries dropped calls Firefly
Hi
We've recently set up and are using with success 1.0.7 using a Junghanns
quadbri card to BRI ISDN, and Firefly with IAX2 protocol as softphones Works
very well, however we're getting cases where sometimes the call just drops.
>From setting more verbose modes we get a log which is shown below. The problem
seems to be the maxretries message which comes from chan_iax2. We are using

compressed folder bug
I found a strange behaviour in dovecot compressed folder, maybe a bug.
It happens only if you have one (and just one!) email in a gz compressed folder.
I'm talking about a mbox server.
Step to reproduce:
- create a new folder, using any client (I think this step is not important, it
happens also if tou create this folder server-side).
- copy one message (any message) into newly created

Windows XP SP2 (Official) and Samba 3
I've looked through the archives and the only information I can find regarding
Windows XP SP2 is RC2. Has anyone out there had ANY experience with XP SP2
Official and a Samba 3 domain?

Problem with OpenSSH 2.9p2
Hello.
I've recently switched to OpenSSH from the other ssh's.
When I ssh into to a box one at a time, it works fine.
However when I want to connect 4 times quickly, none of them ever
connect.
ie:
Doing this four times:
xterm -e connect-to-box1 &
ssh -v shows the following:
It gets to this part on EACH terminal and it hangs forever.
ssh -v -l war thebox.com

stochastic process transition probabilities estimation
Hi all,
I'm new with R (and S), and relatively new to statistics (I'm a
computer scientist), so I ask sorry in advance if my question is silly.
My problem is this: I have a (sample of a) discrete time stochastic
process {X_t} and I want to estimate
Pr{ X_t | X_{t-l_1}, X_{t-l_2}, ..., X_{t-l_k} }
where l_1, l_2, ..., l_k are some fixed time lags. It will be enough for
me to compute

Samba Printer Accounting
Howdy,
I'm looking for a piece of software I can use for accounting printers shared
on a Linux box via Samba, to Win98/2K/XP machines on a domain. In other
words, I want to be able to give user a print quota (say, $3.00), then charge
them 10c per page they print from a Windows client to a printer shared from a
Linux box running Samba. If they're out of quota, it doesn't print

3.0.6 & "string overflow by 1"
I updated one of my file servers to 3.0.6, and while file serving is
improved (no M$-Office file already open messages), every time I access
a printer my logs flood with messages like to those below. It seems I
can set printer properites, etc... but when I print the jobs seem to go
to never-never land (still researching where the jobs go).

[PATCH nbdkit] common: Improve pseudo-random number generation.
Currently we use non-cryptographically secure random numbers in two
places, the error filter (to inject errors at random) and the random
plugin. For this we have used either random_r or a home-brew-ish
Linear Congruential Generator. Use of random_r is problematic on BSDs
because it doesn't exist there. Use of the LCG is simply a bad
choice.
Replace both uses with a better quality and

smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum - Access denied
Hi,
Two days ago, I tried to turned my samba server, which worked perfectly
into a PDC but despite of all my efforts, skimming thru the docs,
mailing lists, hanging on #samba, I've never been able to logon to the
new domain from the WinXP clients.
Authentication is OK, but then access to the share is denied. Here's
part of the log:
