Squid/dansguardian on Centos
Hello,
Would anyone have a good set of install instructions for Dansguardian
running with Squid? Along with that I am interested in being able to apply
the 'google patch' which allows for setting google searches to either safe
or very safe mode. I can find a text version of the patch, but have no idea
how to install it.
Thanks!

Need off-the-shelve PC for Asterisk Server
Does any one have any recommendations on an off-the-shelve PC for an
Asterisk Server? This is for a proof of concept, so it needs to be
inexpensive. I have tried 2 different PC's and had problems with the sound
cards. I am thinking of PC's I can buy from local dealers like Best Buy,
Office Depot. SO a cheap HP, Compaq or eMachine would work fine for me.

load the kernel (vmlinuz-2-4-18-ltsp-1), but after loading the kernel, there only

Having moved from a "cascading LANs" configuration to two independent LANs
on eth0 and eth1, I still get some "state INVALID" for which I am not sure
what the cause is. Can somebody help me understand its probable origin?
Thanks,

proxy server - ipcop vs CentOS
I have purchased a used Compaq DL360 which I was going to use as a proxy
server. Presently, we are using a cheap box with ipcop which is working
fine but it didn't have much RAM (64MB), etc.
This new box we will want to run squid and perhaps dansguardian for
filtering (this is a non-profit company) and I'm wondering if I should
just put ipcop on it or would it be smarter/better to install

What project should I use ?
I am going to list my current plans for rebuilding a Law Firm?s network. I hope that someone will be able to tell me which project (samba or samba-tng) would be a better choice, or if staying with MS is the only choice. If my plan could be changed for the better, input would be greatly appreciated:
A lot of this information is useless for my questions, but I am throwing it in anyway.

ztdummy running, but moh & meetme don't work
Any thoughts on the following?
I am running asterisk from CVS (downloaded yesterday's
version, just to be sure) on a test system with no
digium cards in it, so I have installed ztdummy (see
logs and screenshots below) as a timing source.

outgoing redirect
I am trying to help a school run dansguardian transparent. I added the
following to shorewalls rules, and from a tail of messages it seemed to be
working, but he called saying no one had Internet. What should the rule be
if this does not redirect port 80 to 8080?
REDIRECT loc 8080 tcp www -

Motherboards and IRQs
Someone mentioned earlier (I can't find the message now) that they had a
motherboard that allowed you to change IRQ assignments in BIOS. Does
anyone happen to know how to identify motherboards that can do this? I'm
going to put together a new machine now and I'm having trouble picking a
motherboard for it (ordering from Dell or other online vendor is not an
option, since I need

Skipping problems on outgoing calls (using uLaw with an internal * server through Voxee)
Hello all,
I am using a headset and the X-lite softphone (sometimes I use IAXComm,
but I'm having difficulties using OSS emulation with it) to connect via
uLaw to my internal Asterisk server, which is a Pentium II 400 with 128
megs of RAM. After getting this headset, most or all of the echo people
on the other line were complaining about is now gone, according to them.
However, every

Squid proxy High Availability
Hi all,
I am running squid integrated with squidguard.dansguardian, clamav

linux transparent bridge running squid
Hi I have been using Shorewall for a while now and find it very useful and easy to configure, I am learning iptables and having trouble getting the bridge to successfully work with squid, although I get it working with Shorewall straight away? Does anyone know the rules to successfully use squid with a transparent bridge?

Shorewall + squid + multi isp
Hello all,
I''m reading the nice documentation about shorewall with multi isp. And I wonder about squid (non transparent) and shorewall
Can I use on same machine, squid with ldap ident, dansguardian, and shorewall with multi-isp (four or five) ? Perhaps there is a problem because squid mask source IP, shorewall can maintain and load balance sessions for the same source IP ?
Thanks Fred

samba ldap squid dansgardian
Hi,
Just a question.
I have a samba PDC with LDAP backend.
I want squid / dansguardian use the user auth from samba
NTLM bases.
i need user and group filtering and i want it transparent.
2 steps, auth,
first the NTLM auth on port 80 to be transparent.
second, the dansgadian filter filtering groups.
this looks bit like it, but this authenicates against ADS.
