Should Icecast send the "Connection: close" header?
Good afternoon, On Mon, 2018-10-29 at 13:48 -0400, Spencer Russell wrote: > I'm accessing a server using Icecast 2.4.0. I feel like I need to clarify a few things here: * Icecast 2.4.0 does not implement HTTP/1.1 but HTTP/1.0, which it correctly tells in it's response status lines.

can't compile ices 2 on ppc
I've tried everything I know how (and a lot I don't) to get ices to compile on this beige G3 ppc box. I've got the latest cvs of libshout and ices. Gentoo linux ppc 1.2-r1, from stage3 tarball. gcc 2.95.3 I've made sure that libshout points to libshout.so.2.0.2. Don't know what else to try. I've got the box here, and I've port-forwarded through my firewall to

Nonparametric Effect size indices
Hello! For comparing two non-normally distributed samples, Leech (2002) suggested to report nonparametric effect size indices, such as Vargha & Delaney's A or Cliff's d. I tried to search the R-sites, but could not find related procedures or packages that include nonparametric effect sizes. Thank you for your help! Citation: Leech (2002). A call for greater use of nonparametric

Filters in waveslim
Dear R Users, For running wavelet functions using dwt( ), modwt( ), and mra( ), a wavelet filter algorithm is applied. For all these functions, default is "la8" and other possibility is "haar". In related documents, another possibilities like as symlet and coiflet ... are not cited. Besides "la8" and "haar", which wavelet filters can be used? Thank

Clearing a file_column-type field
So I am now able to set/upload an image to my app using file_column, with a little bit of a change to the code. I can change the image using an Edit page, but I''m trying to figure out what to do if the user wants to remove the image. I tried adding a Remove Image link in my list, but I''m not sure what to do in the remove_image method in my controller. I tried setting the

Payflow Pro (was Re: FatWreck.com - New Rails Site)
Several years ago, before PHP introduced their built-in pfpro functions, I rolled my own crappy interface, which of course delegated to the commandline payflow client. I could certainly do the same in Ruby today. Thinking back on it, I realized at the time, and realize again now, that delegating this functionality to a commandline app is a security risk unless you''re the *only* user on

FileUtils copy not working when invoked by webserver
I have image manipulation routines in one of my controllers, and in an attempt to "undo" bad image edits, I want to copy the original image file over the "working" image file. FileUtils::Verbose.cp(@registrant.image(''original''), @registrant.image) Works great when invoked with a valid @registrant object in script/console, but it does not work when invoked on

Client development
Hi, I?ve been tasked with developing an Icecast broadcast client for iOS. I am not sure how to get started. Ideally, I?d like to get my hands on documentation that describes the Icecast API. Otherwise, if there is a code example in either C, C++ or Obj-C, that should be enough to get me started. I don?t need help figuring out how to generate the audio stream, as I already know how to do that; I

Wazzup with the rubyonrails-talk Google Group?
I just got a Google Groups notification that I had been subscribed to http://groups.google.com/group/rubyonrails-talk. Looking at the page, it appears that about 4300 folks have been subscribed. However, I saw nothing about this on rails@lists.rubyonrails.org. Wazzup? -r -- http://www.cfcl.com/rdm Rich Morin http://www.cfcl.com/rdm/resume rdm@cfcl.com
