THe problem is that hte standard include paths are searched first. I'm not sure if there is a way to get around this.

Request for code review: the brendan() action
This came up as an RFE during the conference (I believe it''s been logged as "4012008: brendan() action needed for DTrace Toolkit".) As everyone here is aware, DTrace is not quite as user friendly as it could be. For the uninitiated, it can be confusing to run a DTrace script and not see the expected output. Brendan Gregg has addressed this in the DTrace Toolkit[1] by

How to rid yourself of Broadvoice
If you're having problems cancelling your Broadvoice service like I was simply do the following: 1) Dial 1-978-418-7300 (don't block your caller ID/CPN). 2) Announce your displeasure with the service to their voicemail (it should tell you something that you have to leave voicemail to get support). Expletives will reduce the waiting in step 3 from 10 minutes to 5 minutes. 3) Wait 10

Restful routes, not repeating yourself and non-standard rest actions best practices
So I''ve recently started playing with the restful routes support in edge rails, converting a few of my controllers to support all the standard operations.. One thing that''s been bothering me, however, is the following: Before using restul routes, I would define an edit method in my controller which would be responsible for both creating new objects as well as editing

[RFC HACK] Make clang hate percpu.h less in 32-bit mode
Neither clang nor GCC like this very much with -m32: long long ret; asm ("movb $5, %0" : "=q" (ret)); However, GCC can tolerate this variant: long long ret; switch (sizeof(ret)) { case 1: asm ("movb $5, %0" : "=q" (ret)); case 8: ; } Clang, on the other hand, won't accept that because it validates the inline asm for the '1' case

Re: Demonizing generic Linux issues as Fedora Core-only issues -- why I hate these meta-discussions ...
From: "Bryan J. Smith <b.j.smith at ieee.org>" > You are indeed correct (I must have been looking at the RHEL3 dir**) First off, that's now 2 strikes for me. Small ones considering the context well outside of the points, but still it hurts my credibility. This is one of the things I hate about meta-discussions, at least how I approach them. Sometimes I just need to learn
