Calling a Controller method from the command line
Hi All,
I need to run some reports via cron. I know I can use runner and call
a method in a model class. But I''d really like to use templates and
IMO this kind of logic belongs in a controller anyways.
These are periodic reports so I don''t need nor want to leave a server
running all the time, so getting the data via curl/wget isn''t really
an option.
What I really

Is :finder_sql using #{id} broken?
Hi All,
It seems that :finder_sql in a HABTM association only interprets a
single quoted #{id} the first time through a query. I see examples
of this being used in a few places (though with has_many) and I don''t
really see how to use :finder_sql without a #{id}.
Am I missing something or is this just broken?

iaxComm problems
Hi Folks.
I have installed two sip phones and two PCs in a network. The later with
iaxComm. Calls are made between the sip phones and between a sip phone and a
PC.
When calling from one PC to the other the iaxComm shows ??? in the status
column and the call can't be answered.
The same goes if anyone calls from the outside and tries to reach a PC.
Any ideas?
Regards.

building from source after installing Debian packages
(Apologies for double posting; I sent this to r-help and was suggested that I
ask here which I should probable have done to begin with).

Dear All,
I've got into the habit of installing R from the precompiled Debian binaries,
including many of the packages from the r-cran-* Debian packages, and later
building from source (e.g., to link against Goto's BLAS, or to build

Samba 2.2.7 terrible slow with Windows XP SP1
I have Samba 2.2.7 installed in a FreeBSD 4.7 server acting as a PDC.
Every folder listing in our main shared folders (drive H: mapped during
login script) is terrible slow.
Initially I checked my server disks, partitions and virtual memory
status and verified that everything is okay.
My SMB.CONF is:

Encontrar un dato y añadirlo a otra columna
Con parse_number sacaria todos los numeros de la columna,
pero lo que busco es sacar solo los que empiezan por AV y descartar el resto.
De todas maneras muchas gracias, le voy a dar otra vuelta.

AMD on a SIP trunk...
We have an Asterisk server with a small outgoing call center. We use
AMD and it usually works very well on Zap channels (E1 PRI). We added a
couple of SIP trunks to reduce long distance costs but now AMD gets
stuck when the call goes out through the SIP channels. Here is an
example call using a SIP line:

bar chart issue
Hi everyone,
I determined the presence of three types parasites in a passerine bird
over two years. I would like to create a bar chart that shows the
proportion infected on the y and year/parasite on the x such that each
type of parasite is grouped together (single label) and a bar for each
year . This would show if there have been changes in the prevalence of
a the parasite over two years.

"top" de procesos de R o Rstudio?
Hola:

tried to get the routine to plot a greek character with expression() or
with substitute() and have not yet had any success. The following only
