ices and stdin module?
I'm trying to wedge an input filter in front of ices (latest nightly
from 5/5), and if I'm using the 'stdinpcm' input module, ices segfaults
on me after a few seconds.
I'm running on FreeBSD-4.8.
Here's the relevant section of my config file:

IPv6 support for Icecast server
[testing a nonsubscriber sending mail from an IPv6 address but
with an IPv4 envelope sender, dunno if it will make the list;
if you don't have IPv6-able mail best keep replies on the list]
In an old archived message, I read:

I need a Freelance Coder...
I must use Windows for Streaming.
and the interface must be an port or something else, because the software
interface runs on a dedicated server.

can icecast broadcast in SPEEX format?
BTW: does speex belong to ogg vorbis family or it is completly different?
Any clients to play speex format?

Live stuff -- voice to music to voice etc. ?
Hi all,
I have the Icecast2 server running perfectly and the iceS streamer
feeding it either /dev/dsp or a playlist of ogg files, depending on
which config I run iceS with (I have three config files: one for live,
one for music, and one default (current)). I'm using Slackware w/the
2.4.22 kernel.
The problem I'm having is perhaps theoretical: how can I talk a little,

Questions
Hi:
I've read that there is experimental speex and theora support in a
development branch of icecast somewhere. Speex would be ideal for this
kind of thing.

Huh, why not just use ices with a perl song choser module ? This
eliminates the need to develop the libshout based streamer (use ices
instead) and give ices the title from your module, ices will take care of
the rest. Or I am wrong ? :)

Possible ICES/Icecast bug
Hi,
I wonder if you can help. I am running Icecast 2.4.4, Ices 2.0.2 and
libshout 2.4.3. There has been a recent upgrade to libshout and I
notice that my previous ices configuration no longer works. In the
ices log I get the error message:

Icecast 2 questions.
Hi all,
I just built icecast 2 from cvs. I tried to compile ices (also from
cvs) and got:
tream.c: In function `ices_instance_stream':
stream.c:164: warning: passing arg 1 of `shout_strerror' makes pointer
from integer without a cast
stream.c:164: too few arguments to function `shout_strerror'

Ices2 and libshout FLAC support?
Are there any plans to support flac streams with ices (and therefore with
libshout as a dependency) currently?
If there aren't, anyone have pointers as to where I should start changing
things to add it? I've read one of oddsock's mailing list postings
mentioning that some format-specific timing issues would need to be
resolved as well as some other hangups, but I'm still a bit

Icecast Problems Get Worse
The Icecast problems I mentioned yesterday on our new server are getting
worse.
This time the server only stayed up for about 30 minutes before dying (no
more music - process is still running). Obviously this won't fly.
Again, ices reports:
Error during send: Libshout reported send error, disconnecting: Libshout
socket error
That's when everything stops.
What can we do?
Thanks,

Icecast Problems Get Worse
Okay. It died again after about 4 hours.
I will turn off the yp servers and see if that helps.
Any other ideas? Same thing, BTW, ices reported a libshout error.

Icecast Problems Get Worse
I'm using whatever comes with Icecast 1.3.11 and Ices 0.22.
Just grabbed both tarballs from Icecast.org.
Is there a way to find out the libshout version? I can't really tell from
the Ices source...
