Why doesn't yp.icecast.org show my stream?
Once again, I'm clueless as to what is going on because I don't have
the source or logs to yp.icecast.org. I am touching yp.icecast.org fine:
[14/Feb/2002:01:39:22] directory_touch_xa([yp.icecast.org:80])
completed...server id = 69
but my radio station isn't shown. More details on my setup:

Bad stuttering with Winamp 2.80

I am using 1.3.12+patch at the moment. That patch I have on it was the
one I submitted earlier which fixes the problem with the wrong
arguments passed to snprintf in the avl code. That shouldn't affect
sound.
I'm fairly certain it's a

Heh. Is it possible to see a copy of what is actually running? I'm
probing the directory server with a quick script but I'm getting
400 URL must be absolute
which I should figure out soon.

I sent an improperly formatted URL to your server. I've corrected this
since. =)

it was fixed a long time ago actually. The current YP is now benefitting
from the changes made by me (with help from Karl), and yet despite the
requests from both Karl and I recommending that these streams be allowed
again, it falls on deaf ears. Ultimately it's up to Xiph to decide,
although I was hoping that when the objection "it performs badly so we
turned off all non-vorbis

How do I list in YP? icecast2 ices0
I thought the YP code was going to be fixed to use less resources so it
could be used with other stream formats. It seems to be taking a long
time.
As it is now, Icecast2 is not a good solution for those wanting to be on
a popular directory. I am forced to recommend using Shoutcast to my
clients so they can get onto a popular directory. I would prefer to
recommend Icecast2.

truncated negative binomial using rnegbin
Dear R users,
I'm wanting to sample from the negative binomial distribution using the
rnegbin function from the MASS library to create artificial samples for the
purpose of doing some power calculations. However, I would like to work
with samples that come from a negative binomial distribution that includes
only values greater than or equal to 1 (a truncated negative binomial), and

Re: Any idea why yp.icecast.org doesn't show my stream?
i'm having the same problem... touches seem to work fine, but the stream
doesn't show up on the yp servers... i've trimmed my list of directory
servers to only yp.icecast.org and yp.mp3.de.
i did a tcpdump trace of a touch, and upon analyzing it, things seem to
work correctly... in the interest of verbosity, the sessions are as

Two Problems while trying to aggregate a dataframe
Hello!
Given is an Excel-Sheet with actually 11,000 rows and 9 columns. I want
to work with the data in R. The contents are similar to my following
example.
I have a list with ID-number, personal name and two kinds of
loan-values. I want to aggregate the list, that for each person only one
row remains and where the loan-values are added.
First I tried some commands with tapply but had no

I only have mp3s and it doesn't make sense to me to change all of them
to ogg. My MDA(windows mobile phone) plays mp3s with no problem. It
uses them as ringtones. Its more widely used in my circles. Why would
I and everyone else want to switch to ogg? What is the benefit? Why
the shun on mp3? And I can stream at 64 and 32 which is great for those
streams that will get a lot of

trade-off between speed and storage in matrix multiplications
Dear R-users,
I coded two equivalent ways to perform (in a simplified version)
some matrix multiplications I would like to use in a more general
framework.
In the first case I used Kronecker product and vectorization of a
certain matrix. This approach takes less time, but, as you may guess, I
run out of memory when dimensions are large.
In the second approach, I profited of sparseness and

How do I list in YP? icecast2 ices0
Hi Rob
The stream format has nothing to do with your audio files. I probably
have 70% MP3's and 30% Ogg Vorbis files, and 1 or 2 WAV files for
jingles on my hard drive. I only encode new CD's to Ogg Vorbis.
But my station is streaming in AAC+ format, and I have also streamed in
Ogg Vorbis format simultaneously. There is no way I would bother
streaming in MP3 format. It's 15+

I can understand wanting to boost the adoption of Xiph codecs, but I think restricting the directory to vorbis streams only will not help this endeavour. I can imagine it will just piss a lot of people, including myself, and give Xiph a bad name.
I get very few listeners of my AAC+ stream now since this occured. The restriction is not an insentive to switch to Ogg Vorbis at all. The incentive

[SOLVED] Re: [icecast-dev] Why doesn't yp.icecast.org show my stream?
Just following up to myself here so this will be in the archive
for people.
The problem was in darkice 0.7. There is a patch required to make
it comply with the x-audiocast-public "standard". You can get the
latest CVS to fix the problem.
