The RFC standardized ports for HTTP are: 80, alternatives: 8008, 8080 For HTTPS: 443 After all, Icecast is just another web server. Please note the absence of 8000 and 8443. Neither are officially specified for WWW type HTTP(S). They are

exposed-port option for Icecast behind reverse proxy
Hello, I didn't want to have to choose between Icecast running on port 80 and all my Apache virtual hosts, running also on port 80, on my sole external IP address. I didn't want either to open port 8000 on my firewall because I wanted all users being able to reach Icecast even the ones behind enterprise firewalls. So I managed to run Apache 2.2 listening on port 80 and Icecast 2.3.2

icecast eating CPU in Debian
Hello! I have had problems with icecast beginning to eat all my CPU lately. I use the icecast2-2.4.4 source on Debian testing, I have recompiled it for SSL support. The hardware is amd64. I see nothing particular in the log files. One thing I can think of is that I have liquidsoap asking icecast if some mount points are up. It looks like this in the log files: 10.0.0.6 - -

How well does printing support scale in Samba 2.2.x ?
Hi, I'm working on a printing project consolidating a bunch of NT machines with a Solaris printing machine. I'm concerned about the scalability if I increase the number of printers from say 20 too 300. How does it effect the response time for looking up and changing device setting etc. Thanks Gunnar Gunnarsson

mount type=default problems
Which Icecast Version are you using? This sounds like a bug that was fixed in recent versions. 2.4 is not exact enough, we need to know the full version number, please :) On 2 Nov 2016, at 10:52, unosonic wrote: > > hello, > > this is a bit special I guess... > Icercast 2.4 > > I have several mounts of type=normal, with staticly defined > user/password > as well as

html5/js source client?
hello, now that html5 audio becomes usable in some browsers, for example http://webaudiodemos.appspot.com/AudioRecorder/index.html ... has anybody thought about to implement a web based source client for icecast? that's for now beyond my coding skills, unfortunately... thx, uno

Re: Need solution to Printers window access denied, unableto connect message.
look in the smb.conf man page for "disable sspool" I think thats the right option. It needs to go in your global section ie disable sspool = yes Cheers ------------- Kristyan Osborne IT Technician Longhill High School 01273 391672 ------ Computers are like airconditioners: They stop working properly if you open windows. using Icecast source client as PulseAudio source
There are many Icecast source clients[1] available now. The Coolmic[2] app is particularly interesting because it can turn a Android phone (e.g. SmartLav+ lapel mic[3]) into a wearable mic for presenters. Not everybody is keen to run Icecast though, some people may want to mix-and-match the Icecast source clients like that with some other broadcasting platform, Jitsi Meet[4], Zoom or whatever.

Icecast on Raspberry Pi
Is it possible to make Icecast run, for serving no more than 16 listeners, on Raspberry Pi? I simply want to dip my toe into the Linux universe, and this would be a fine excuse for me to try RP if it's doable. Thanks. switch a source, idea?
hi there, let's say I have a mountpoint /important with a source a, and a mountpoint /notimportant with source b now I have to switch source a and b so that the content of source b plays on mountpoint /important mountpoint /notimportant is, well, not so important of course I can do it manually, but I wonder if there is a trick to accomplish that programmatically or within icecast. ideas
