I'll get around to putting Wireshark on and seeing what's going on, perhaps someone else has already noticed this: Since I upgraded to 2.4.2 Win32 (used to use a kh branch version previously) and then on to 2.4.4 Win32, I've been noticing clients don't always connect successfully. VLC or Muses player does this out of every dozen connection attempts, sometimes as few as 2 or 3.

I can confirm it doesn't happen on kh13 Win32 build either. I think it was introduced about 2.4.1/2 in the normal version. This is call for volunteers to try out some modifications to icecast for supporting burst on connection (aka fast pre-buffering). http://www.xiph.org/~karl/icecast-2.0-kh8.tar.gz Your existing icecast.xml configuration file should have the same behaviour as CVS is now ie no bursting, only when you add the <burst-size> tags (specified in bytes) in the <limits> section should the burst

Streams dropping out after 8-12 seconds in Edge, IE
Hi Is anyone experiencing Icecast streams dropping out after about 8-12 seconds in Edge or IE? It's fine in Chrome or Firefox. It's also fine in the new Chromium based Edge. I have a number of listeners reporting it. It also happens on some of the streams in the http://dir.xiph.org/ Icecast directory (Alt Rock 97, Wakefield FM, KBSU, 80s 90s Hit Radio etc.). Here's one of my stream

Recycle Repository Issue
I have done some searching on the Internet, but not been able to find a solution to my problem. I hope you can help me with this. I have a server at home that runs on FreeBSD 10.3. The file system is ZFS. I have two ZFS pools: tank and fun. I share my ZFS file systems using Samba v4.6.2. When I add recycle bin functionality for a share like below, it work like a charm: [mac] path =

Send admin kill request to server
Hi Fred, I am understand the requirements already a little bit better. What I have to Do is a HTTP GET with a Basic Authorization in the header. I have tested it with 'Postman' and it works fine with Icecast. But I have to do it with Javascript or JQuery. Therefore curl doesn't help me. I try to use Ajax for that, but something goes wrong. If I do it without Autorization, I got

icecast, ssl, windows environment
Hello, Before writing here I really tried almost everything, reading the archives here, the FAQ and dozens of more or less well commented online guides and posts. My environment is a Windows server, with IIS as web server (I know, blame and flame on me, but this was available on my hands at the time). The server is hosting several websites and an icecast 2.4.4 running an online radio. The radio

Strange behaviour --UPDATE--
Dear All, I've sent yesterday this issue, but as it contained two screenshots, I'm not sure if it reached the list. I post it again with some updates. 1) I had encoded a WAV file three years ago. Examining the FLAC file with an HEX/text viewer, i find at the beginning, after some headers, it declares reference libFLAC 1.3.1 20141125. However, I'm pretty sure I didn't use that

¿Verdad? Newbie
I am using Winamp, Icecast2 Server, and Edcast. I believe I have set these up properly so that I can set up and broadcast an internet radio station. These are the links I used to help me: https://www.pcworld.com/article/190705/start_your_own_internet_radio_station_for_free.html https://www.fastserv.com/kb/article/edcast_winamp_-_easy_steps_to_streaming_to_icecast_or_shoutcast/

kerberos + winbind + AD authentication for samba 4 domain member
Hello, Thank You for fast response. I'm glad that it's a mistake somewhere on my side, it means it will work when I fix it :) Ok, first of all: Everything is on centos 7.4 All config files will be below, but to start off: behaviour is stranger than I thought, but there is a pattern: when doing [DOMAIN\kacper_wirski at vs-files ~]$ kinit -V Using default cache: /tmp/krb5cc_101003

icecast, ssl, windows environment
Hello everyone. Thanks a lot! I got it working. Frankly speaking I had already tested the setup proposed, but I made two mistakes, first i tried to setup the port 443 and it was stupid as this port is already used by web service https. Second mistake was the .pem file that probably was wrongly concatenated and was not recognized/loaded by icecast. However I confirm that in most places on
