Question
I own a recording studio. We do a weekly live concert broadcast to Facebook using Wirecast software. There is an internet radio station that uses icecast that wants to carry the audio from my broadcast live. I have no idea how to get the audio to them. I use Mac computers. Can someone help me with that.

Logging tracks played and listener stats
Hi Richard,
We parse streaming server log files and generate audience stats and royalty reports in various formats. You can submit a log file at https://www.streamanalyst.com/free-account/ for a free evaluation. This is a commercial service. We charge 148 euros (about US$167.00) for a one-year subscription to small broadcasters.

Best method of grabbing Now Playing metadata with PHP?
Hi, Fred...
Many thanks for the suggestion!
If we simply want to output metadata as you describe, how much,if any,
of the prerequisites described in
https://github.com/RadioFreeAsia/GlassPlayer/blob/master/INSTALL
can we dispense with? We are dealing with a shared hosting system for
the host so installing the bare minimum would be a good idea (especially

Excellent - you'll need to make sure that you have the settings that
they use for their broadcasts so that you can take over the stream
seamlessly with no issues. This means:
* Audio encoder (generally mp3, HE-AAC or AAC+) Nicecast only does
mp3; BUTT and LadioCast support both mp3 and AAC; AAC offers higher
audio quality at a lower data rate
* Data rate (kb/sec) (Hopefully at

Curry: proposed new functional programming, er, function.
Hi all (especially R-core) I suppose,
With the introduction of the new functional programming functions into
base I thought I'd ask for a Curry() function. I use a simple one that
looks this:
Curry = function(FUN,...) { .orig = list(...);function(...)
do.call(FUN,c(.orig,list(...))) }
This comes in really handy when using say, heatmap():

Question
Hi, Cliff...
The suggestions I've made assume that the station would allow you to
drive their server for the duration of the program. This may not be the
case.
If so, then you may want to set up a streaming audio server yourself and
supply its address to the station; they can then receive your feed and
rebroadcast it via their normal output channels. However the downside of
this is that

Curry with `[.function` ?
Dear all,
I sometimes use the following function:
Curry <- function(FUN,...) {
# by Byron Ellis,
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2007-November/047318.html
.orig <- list(...)
function(...) do.call(FUN,c(.orig,list(...)))
}
... and have thought it might be convenient to have a method for [ doing
this. As a simple example,

Swift Test Suite
Folks,
I'm glad we're getting all the Swift support upstream, but I worry how
can we make sure it works for real applications after the initial
support is in. I'm sure you guys have your own internal builders, but
I think it would be interesting in having some more substantial tests
in the test-suite.
Are there plans to do that at all? Or are we just going to rely on

Problem with Swift app and escape digits
Hi all,
Here's the syntax of the Swift command from voip-info:
Swift([<Voice>^]the?text?to?speak[|<timeout?in?ms>|<maximum
digits?to?listen?for>])
Since the Swift application (inexplicably) doesn't support support
escape digits directly, I'm setting timeout to 1 and max digits to 1
so that pressing any key will stop the audio:

Swift - detection of multiple digits unreliable on my system
Hi all,
I just installed Cepstral and app_swift version 1.4.2 on my Asterisk
1.4.22.1 box. It seems to work great with one exception.
If I play a test message with instructions to collect a maximum of 5
digits, it collects those 5 digits correctly if the user waits for the
message to complete before entering them. But if the user barges in
with digits before the message completes, the detected

Cepstral/Swift TTS app
Hey everyone,
I was frustrated with the existing app_cepstral/app_swift TTS modules I've
found on the net, so I hacked up my own. It's been working really well for
me so I thought I'd share.
In developing this, I wanted to avoid:
* the startup delay incurred writing TTS output to a temp file then playing
it back
* gluing cepstral/swift to the asterisk module in a way that fubard
