Change bitrate
Hello, good morning ! Running Icecast2 and Ices2 with live audio from Line IN, what is the correct way to change the bitrate ?. In the Icecast2 configuration file I set: <mount type="normal"> ????<mount-name>/entzun.opus</mount-name> ????<bitrate>128</bitrate> </mount> But it seems that is not enough since the bitrate does not change. IceCast and ICES
I?ve successfully implemented IceCast on a Raspberry Pi and can access the stream ONLY if I use an ffmpeg statement to start the stream. Unfortunately, the stream is choppy and the sound quality is poor. I?ve tried using ICES, but I don?t get any sound. Terminal command that works: ffmpeg -ac 2 -f alsa -i hw:0,0 -acodec mp3 -ab 48k -ac 2 -content_type audio/mpeg -f mp3 icecast://source:password

Zero listeners on icecast stats
Hi there, I just set up a system of fallback streams for our free radio station here but I have this weird problem: it always show zero listeners. Our setup is this: We have a listening mount point for people - that fall back to a live streaming from a cellular phone - that fall back to a live streaming from a base station (a pc), that fall back to a 24/7 archive streaming. No matter what the

Simple source on Debian
Hi there. Thanks for the tip about Ices2. Do you know if it's possible to make it work with mp3 files? I only ask because there are several people who stream using my server, and they use mp3. I'm trying to create fallback streams, but in order for that to work, I'd have to get them to switch to ogg or find a way to make Ices work with mp3. Thanks On 6/9/15, Jos? Luis Artuch

Hi José, Just to be sure, did you mean to share this PHP script somewhere? Robert, I'm thinking you'll have to do something like José did and create some custom code to get all that you are asking for. Resample and Relay Using Icecast2
Hi Robert, Icecast itself doesn't do any resampling of audio streams it receives. One would likely craft a solution that listens to the original stream and re-encodes on the fly, providing those alternate bitrate streams back to Icecast. I've heard people doing this with liquidsoap and other source clients, and a bit of server-side magic. Some quick Googling provided me with this link

Zero listeners on icecast stats
Have you considered round robin DNS.. essentially you assign the same A record to two IPs. I do this and it distributes listeners for me without Icecast. Simple source on Debian
Hello everyone. I just joined this list, and I was wondering if any of you might have any suggestions. I'm looking for a source that will run on Debian, that would simply send mp3 files I have in a folder to my Icecast2 server in a random order. I do not require anything special, like random ads, scheduling support, etc. I've given Liquidsoap a try, but it seems to be far too complex for
