title streaming with ices
Please correct me if I'm wrong but the album title isn't exposed by the status-json file. I'd really like to be able to expose this as well. I'm using EZStream but I think the configuration / exposure needs to be configured on the Icecast2 side. Title formatting for players/plugins
Hi, Peter Pawlowski's new (1.15beta) winamp decoder plugin seems quite nice, in my opinion.. The "title formatting logic" is what I've been dreaming of for ages.. Right now I've chosen "%artist / [[%[abbr20]album][-%[num2]tracknumber] / ]%title[ - %version]" I get titles such as "Artist / Title"or "Artist / Album / Title" or "Artist /

title streaming with ices
I have been using ices2 for a few years to send several streams to an Icecast 2.4.1 server (both on Linux machines). All of the streams use a playlist. All of my streams contain Artist, Title, Album, Date/Year, and Track number when they arrive at the player as long as the file being streamed contains the information. I have checked all of my streams with Win amp (Windows), Audacious (Windows,

title streaming with ices
Unfortunately I am still using ices0 because our streams are mp3 streams. I looked at switching to ogg but many of our listeners have specialized players in devices such as Braille notetakers and other accessible devices that don't work with ogg streams. This station has 7 streams and runs on a linux server. Also to my knowledge Stream Licensing doesn't pick up ogg streams very well

Adviced way of tagging music
I change a lot of my CD to Ogg to be able to listen them easily from my computer (I use foobar, I was used to WMP but it does not support library for Ogg files and plug-ins I found for this where poor) without the need for frequent CD changing. I like my music to be richly tagged. But with classical music CD it is a real pain to tag those files. Typical problems involve: - single CD

flac --replay-gain
I have FLAC files that I would like to re-encode with --replay-gain. I have my Flac's organized in Artist/Album folders, so I should have no problem getting an album gain/peak per album. Do I need to first de-code the flac's to wav files and then "flac --replay-gain *.wav", or can this be accomplished by going to each Album directory and "flac -f --replay-gain

Q: Tool to copy Vorbis comments to MP3 ID tags
Hi, I'm wondering: If you have audio files like foo1.ogg and foo1.mp3, and the Vorbis file has nice comments (title, tracknumber, artist, album, date, etc), is there a tool to copy the information to an MP3 file on a "best effort" strategy? I know that MP3 TAGs are quite limited regarding lengths. Regards, Ulrich

KAudioCreator
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I am the the author of KAudioCreator. A simple cd ripper/encoder application for KDE. I would like to add flac (or is it FLAC?) to the default encoders. KAudioCreator uses a simply command line listing for its encoders. For example: To leave as a wav file: "mv %f %o" To encode with oggenc: "oggenc -o %o -a %artist -l %album -t

Alphabetically sorted list pages + dynamic forms
Hey everyone, I''m new to RoR - how can I get my database content filtered by alphabet? Eg, on my php site now I use this format: http://www.scenepointblank.com/reviews/index.php?page=B How can I get this kind of functionality out of ruby? Also, how could I go about making a multiple select box of authors, then depending on how many you chose, the next page of the form displays a

using vorbiscomment
As far as I could find, nowhere in the documentation or even source does it actually explain how to use vorbiscomment. Just a simple "vorbiscomment reads TAG=VALUE pairs on separate lines from stdin" would save people a lot of time. Of course, this is still a painful tool to use, and since I had some .ogg's lying around with broken comments (from my first ogg vorbis patch to grip),

PROPOSAL: Sub-Tagging
I mentioned sub-tagging in an earlier post. Here's a more in-depth mail on what i thought of. One of the debates going on here are whether ARTIST is worthy of life. Another is whether the average user will bother filling in the detailed info Jonathan wants. Of course, all tags are optional, but nevertheless we should have a tagging-system that pleases _the_users_, that is, everybody: 1.

Logging album info for ogg-vorbis
Hi, i just joined the list. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a change to icecast that logs album info as well as ARTST and TRACK. I have made the changes to the source code and it's working fine. If there is any interest, I could look into making it an addition to the code. Let me know. thanks, -- Aaron -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Batch-Tagging oggs?
Hello all. Quick question ('Cause I'm famished and have to get something to eat) If I have a batch of files (wave and/or ogg) with a certain naming scheme. Would it be possible for me to write a small nifty (newbie) dos-batch program that could tag those ogg-files (or encode the waves with tags) with regards to the namin parameters. Let me clarify. I usually encode waves with the

legalities of streaming
Oh, I almost forgot... If you're going under compulsory licensing: 1) Listener requests cannot be honored, otherwise you will end up labeled an "interactive service" along with Audiogalaxy Rhapsody & the like. Which means more & more expensive royalties. 2) You cannot play more than 3 songs of the same album in any 3 hour period (no more than 2 in a row). Nor can you

icecast status page -status.xsl
So I point my browser to http://206.168.174.48:8000/status.xsl Looking at the xsl doc status.xsl I some some nice variables I can use. For some reason I don't seem to be able to pull out the comment tag from the ogg file. I used to easytag to add this so i know it exists. These appear to work <xsl:value-of select="artist" /> - <xsl:value-of select="title"

FLAC to mp3 batch converter?
I'm just wondering if someone wrote a perl script to convert a directory with flac files into mp3 and preserving the id3 tag from flac to mp3? I have two harddrives where I keep my favorite CDs in flac and others in mp3 but when I get tired of them, I move them into mp3 and rather than popping the original CD in, it might be easier to just convert from flac to mp3 directly. Please cc me on
