Hi everyone .. need some pro-dovecot arguments :-)
Hi, i never used dovecot so far, but i heard a couple good things about it .. for one the debian maintainer of the exim package recommended it :-) so i want to change our mailserver (currently using ipop3 and uw-imap) to dovecot ... now my boss seems to favour cyrus. i could use some good arguments for dovecot, also your experiences with it and with other mailservers so i can make a

[Fwd: mounting as a regular user]
Thank you for the reply Joe. Which smb.conf files would you want to see? I am trying to mount shares from 2 FreeBSD, 1 RH9 (linux) and 2 Windows servers to a directory structure on my system. To give an idea my mount script is as follows (with some info removed): # Smeagol (FreeBSD Domain Controler/Profile Server) # mount -t smbfs -o username=$user, password=$pass,ro //smeagol/home-dir$

Possible memdisk issue

If I understand things correctly, a bootable floppy has two key pieces of executable code: the 512-byte boot sector, and the kernel loaded by that boot sector. The kernel can be large, and thus

Problem
Hello. I am trying to get multi paths running, i.e I want to specify 2 paths from a particular node to another. To test this, I am setting up the following scenario: I create 2 tap devices tap0 = 10.1.1.1/32 netmask 255.255.255.0 tap1 = 10.2.2.2/32 netmask 255.255.255.0 I then issue the route command: ip route add 10.3.3.3/32 nexthop via 10.1.1.2 nexthop via 10.2.2.3 The route table

Shared or VPS/dedicated hosting
Hi, I was wander if anyone can tell based on self expirience what would be limitations for rails app regard shared hosting. For example on PHP/MySql db driven app on shared hosting can handle 1000 users a day without problems. I know there are many factors involved but would like to hear your thoughts, when would you upgrade and if you would deploy rails app on shared hosting at all. thanks

[OT] - Career Advice
Hey everyone - I have a career-related question for you all. I currently work full time as a Sr. Sys Admin, and have been doing systems work for about 9 years. I have been doing web development work on and off during this time, and have written quite a few internal applications and scripts for several companies I worked for. I have never worked in the full time capacity of a software developer

how to interpolate multidimensional (3D) spatial data
Hello, I am an archaeologist who wonders wether a multidimensional (3D) spatial interpolation is possible in R. The data consists of measurements in 3D space with coordinates X-Y-Z and a measured variable U, that is, U is measured at points located at X-Y-Z. e.g. a data structure like the following: X Y Z U 5.10 5.02 16.03 6.674 5.41 4.32 14.03 6.668 1.72 3.59 12.28

[PATCH][RFC] Support more Capability Structures and Device Specific
I am submitting the patch which supports more Capability Structures and Device Specific Registers for passthrough device. In Xen 3.3 unstable, qemu-dm supports Configuration Header, MSI Capability Structure, and MSI-X Capability Structure. But qemu-dm does not support PCI Express Capability Structure, Device Specific Registers, etc (writing them is ignored). To support various I/O devices, I

Parameterized Samples Withdrawn
Although the parameterized samples have allowed people to get a firewall up and running quickly, they have unfortunately set the wrong level of expectation among those who have used them. I am therefore withdrawing support for the samples and I am recommending that they not be used in new Shorewall installations. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Shorewall - iptables made easy AIM: tmeastep \

Nested MySQL Commands
Is it possible to have nested MySQL queries in extensions.conf? Ie, perform a query, grab a value, and then jump to another location in the dialplan and do another query based on that original value. I'm having problems with the result and fetchid's and I'm not sure if it's even possible to do this or not. Thanks, Doug. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

read.table error
R experts, I am working with a fairly large data set comprised of 563 rows by 116 columns including several different modes. I have been unable to read in the data set completely using the read.table function and the RGui (i.e. nearly half the total number of rows are missing from the data set along with the column names). The data does read in fully using Tinn-R's Rterm; however, at several

mean vs sum behavior
Dear all Could someone explain me why lapply(split(x,fac),mean) returns means per levels of fac for each column of x whereas lapply(split(x,fac),sum) does not return sums per level of fac and columns of x, but adds all columns together? Hence, how can I get sum to behave as mean in this instance? Thank you very much in advance E. Castella
