Icecast 'client'
Hi, Do you see any advantages of such a client? Is there a reason why you think it would exist? /Denis :-) > Den 23/05/2014 kl. 00.35 skrev Guido Budack <glaivy at yandex.com>: > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > I just mind that Icecast has its own client... > Have been surprised as I found out they there is no... > Strange... > >

Installing Samba 2.2.3a on Mandrake 8.1
Hi everybody, I've upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.2.3a. I've downloaded the zip file - unzipped it in /root/tmp/Samba - run "./configure" - run "make" - run "make install". Everything went well. Restarted Linux and checked the version in swat. It still was 2.2.1. Samba was running when I installed 2.2.3a. What did I do wrong?? Thanks Kris Vandaele Adecco

Summary of hangind HP proliant
Quick summary of the Issue I posted a few weeks go about a HP DL380G3 server running RHAS21 that was hanging under heavy disk IO. Server is 2x2.8GB hyper threading Xeons, 6GB 400Mhz RAM. It has a built in SmartArray 5i card that was mirroring 2 disks for root, and raid5-ing 4 disk for /apps_data. A multi GB tar could make the box unresponsive for several seconds. Why not pulseaudio?
Pulseaudio works great in wine using the modified wine from the Neill Aldur ppa. Tried everything else (padsp, pasuspender, blah) and nothing would work reliably. Some crashes when another application outputs sound, sometimes the sound does not work at all, sometimes it is awfully slow or with latency varying while recording, leading to unpredictable offsets in recorded files. Using pulseaudio

Hoi folks, I don't like to post in newsletter because of several reason but sometimes it isn't evitable. I am setting up a internet-radio-show (exclusively live, including 2 video-streams) and I want to read out the audio-metadata of momentarily played tracks in realtime to compare it against a SQL-database. The aim is to fill up and/or update a table with 'most played'

Red Hat patch kills streaming
Has anyone else seen this? I patched my Red Hat box yesterday with the Red Hat 2.4.18-4 kernel patch. It was fine until I rebooted and then the new kernel failed. It still came up with the old kernel. No biggee, we were in a blackout time anyway since we are not allowed to stream certain national broadcasts, so I re-installed just to try out something new. I patched the kernel with all the

How to read out metadata
Hi folks, I want to read out meta-data (audio) and compare to a record-set in a mysql database. Any suggestions where to start? The programs I know all rip meta-data and put it into a (temporary) file. Examples ffmpeg, flumotion... So do I really need to run an additional client (if ever possible) for the sole purpose of ripping the meta-data out of the temp-file and afterwards comparing with
