Opus supported source client without transcoding?
have you tried "cat $1.opus $2.opus $3.opus | oggfwd" could be a band-aid until ices2 can work with opus files - if it works... Opus supported source client without transcoding?
Okey, thanks. Do you have any idea what I might use for feedings files to oggfwd? I have done a bit of searching, but I can't really find anything. With mpd it's possible to set a file as output with their fifo output plugin: http://www.musicpd.org/doc/user/ch05s06.html#idp58733200 But it seems like it's a PCM stream and not the file as-is. Opus supported source client without transcoding?
Hi! I'm looking for a Linux source client that supports the Opus codec and doesn't transcode/re-encode the music files. I have tried both mpd and Liquidsoap, but both re-encodes the media files even if they already are in Opus. I would like to be able to pre-encode my music library to, lets say, 100 kbit/s Opus files and then just stream them as-is. This would save storage space, CPU

On the fly transcoding from FLAC to a Vorbis stream
I'd like to store all of my music in FLAC form; however, I would also like to stream the library as Vorbis. Is there a tool to do on the fly stream encoding to Vorbis from FLAC? Basically, I'm looking for something that is almost like a DJ application that lets you pull in the FLAC files, do whatever DSP algorithms you need, and then code them into Vorbis and shove them out a stream.

libshout-2.3.1 release with Opus support
All, I've made a new release of libshout. Greg Maxwell contributed support for the Opus audio codec (opus-codec.org). Tested with gstreamer and oggfwd as source clients, and playback with Firefox Nightly and 'curl | opusdec'. Thanks, Greg. There are no other updates; in particular webm streaming still requires the caller limit the send rate. The source package is available: -

Transcoding OPUS?
Hello, I'd like to ask whether there is some documentation with recommended parameters for transcoding voice codecs such as G722, G711a/u <-> Opus with near-transparency. My Idea is to have something like: HW-Phone <-> Asterisk <---------> Asterisk <-> HW-Phone (G722) (Opus) (G722) in order to lower the bandwidth between the two

ffmpeg2theora icecast ubuntu edgy
Hi, I just wanna share with you my experience with theora ffmpeg2theora, icecast2 and ubuntu edgy. I wanted to broadcast live video on an Ubuntu machine with ffmpeg2theora, oggfwd and icecast2. I read the thread http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/2005-February/008608.html about the stream dying after a couple seconds with libshout 2.0. Now the same happens if you use libshout3 v2.2 with

Opus Radio Stream

problems streaming theora with oggfwd and icecast2
Hi guys , I used ffmpeg , and ffmpeg2theora , with oggfwd for streaming to the icecast2 streaming server without any problems. But now , only works if I use ffmpeg2theora. I try with one of the latest svn version and one that I consider " stable" because is ok for all my needs , and they don't work. This is the complete shell output ffmpeg -i /home/pierpaolo/Scrivania/31.mpg

Automatic Update of MP3 Files
Okay, I'm pretty new to icecast myself, and have had to work my way through the same kind of confusion, so I think I know where you're coming from here. Part of the problem is that what you're describing and asking for doesn't really make sense...except that I know I'd have been mis-describing my situation pretty much the same way not too long ago so I think I understand

MP3/Vorbis/Opus: What I think I hear
Hi! Sorry, I know the rules for comparing objective subjective listening impressions, but I'd like to know whether from the algorithmic or implementer's point of view the following personal impressions can be confirmed: Comparing MP3 with Vorbis at rather high bitrates, I had the impression the Vorbis sounded more crispy, while MP3 sounded somewhat softened. I preferred Vorbis for that

What clients do you use?
I been revising my list of options for people to connect to my icecast servers. And would like to know what clients you use to connect. I know of the list on the site and I would like to know what you guys use. Please Post Name, Version, OS and Why you choose or recommend this client. I use SAM by Spacial Audio, its a old version, for windows, Why because I got a good deal on the cost of it, it
