IceCast KH - question
Hello Thomas and Karl, thank you for your answer and time.
We've tested with several listeners and different connections, using
WinAmp and JW Player. For about 15 minutes, everything is ok. After
15-18 minutes, WinAmp starts do blink that "red square" (packet loss or
instability), and after about 20 minutes sounds starts to "pop", with
small cuts, and then starts to

As I'm neither familiar with the KH version, nor with SAM I won't be of
much help.

IceCast KH - question
Simple streaming is fundamentally flawed this way.
"The man with two clocks, does not know what time it is."
Your source is clocked from one crystal in your source sound card, and
played back on the basis of the clock crystal in the client sound card.
There is nothing to say or keep these crystals locked to the same exact
frequency, which is REQUIRED to maintain no clock drift.

issue with fileserve in KH branch
Hello together
after trying to deploy one of the latest version out of the KH branch to
our servers we ran into an issue with streaming of ondemand files.
After deploying 2.3.2-kh27.1 and also trying 2.3.2-kh24 and 2.3.2-kh22
we see that if we try to stream an ondemand file through the fileserv
option we get the ondemand file play back correctly and also see the
appropriate file length in

bit/bytes <= broadcasting : the state of art ?
Hi,
Our webradio (Let's Go Zik - http://www.letsgozik.com) works with
donation and partenship. I think it's the only way to keep a webradio
alive for the moment... We are making our radio in a associative way...
It's quite hard to "find" listeners. Currently we are nearly
broadcasting for 60 simultaneous listeners (and approx. 5000 differents
listeners per months)...

Dear Mr./Mrs.
I use Linux Fedora 8 and I tried to
install your software for p2p broadcasting. There were some problems.
1. I install successfully
icecast-2.3.1-0.src.rpm (rpm -ivh icecast-2.3.1-0.src.rpm)
2.When I tried to install libxml2 from
http://xmlsoft.org/downloads.html I receive this output:

Hi Oddsock,
Like Clement, I am sure Nullsoft is still "offering" AOL's bandwidth since I
think Nullsoft is not part of AOL anymore. About the new broadcasting
methods, is the multicast technology already available? I have heard only
few providers are equipped with multicast enabled routers. What about p2p
streaming, is it really reliable? When I see Peercast's statistics, only

relationship kh-branch and icecast-trunk
Hi all,
I'm thinking about using the kh-branch because I would really like to use
the slave_redirect feature in the kh branch for load-balancing. I read this
feature won't make it into the 2.3 release, but is it likely to end up in
the 2.4 release. In other words: if I decide to use the kh-branch now, is a
smooth migration back to the icecast-2.4 release likely once that becomes

init.d script for kh-branch
Hi!
The kh-branch icecast make install doesn't install the init.d system
script and from my own experience the one from the official branch
doesn't work.
What's the best method to add an icecast kh-breanch init script?

Can't compile ices kh static
Hello,
I have oen trouble to compile ices kh 57 as a static executable.
I built ogg, vorbis, libhshout with enable-static.
ld.so.conf is up to date to find shared libs.
When I compile ices non static, everything is ok.
But when I add
export LDFLAGS="-static"
before calling configure for ices, then I get this error message:
configure: error: Need libshout-kh release
I'm using only

i am desperately trying to get this version of ices up and running on debian

the source package or the deb at /usr/share/doc/ices2-kh/ i

The default settings should allow for building both static and shared
libs.

Relay authentication on kh-57
Is something broken here?
I'm trying to do a test of relaying between two servers running kh-57.
Master-slave relaying fails: the connection fails on the master with:

[ANNOUNCE] Unofficial icecast-kh and libtheora Debian Sarge packages
Hi, I hope this is useful for some of you:
I'm just finished building unofficial debian packages for icecast2 and
libtheora for Sarge (stable).
The idea behind this is to keep all the servers which take part on the
GISS stream-ring in sync, running the same version of icecast2 kh
branch, thus having a common ground for testing and debugging, and stay
always on the cutting-edge of
