Stream Interruption Troubleshooting
Dear All,
Icecast makes it possible that our Community/Student radio station reaches
online listeners and it's FM transmitter. Operating with little or not
budget, I've set up our streaming several times. Lately we are experiencing
audio glitches and dropouts out of nowhere (setup hasn't changed
tremendously). Similar cases I found on the list and elsewhere don't give

Trouble getting in icecast Directory
I have been trying to get my station listed in the icecast directory. I
would appreciate someone reviewing this to see what is wrong. I've
studied the documentation and I think I am doing what is required, but
my station is not showing up in the icecast yp directory.
I'm using icecast 2.3.2
I have the directory entry in the icecast.xml config file:

Send admin kill request to server
Hi Fred,
I am understand the requirements already a little bit better.
What I have to Do is a HTTP GET with a Basic Authorization in the header. I
have tested it with 'Postman' and it works fine with Icecast.
But I have to do it with Javascript or JQuery. Therefore curl doesn't help
me.
I try to use Ajax for that, but something goes wrong.
If I do it without Autorization, I got

Problems with 1.3.11 and Ices 0.22
We just built a new server to run Icecast 1.3.11 and Ices 0.22.
It's a Dual PIII running RH7.1.
We put it online last night and Icecast ran fine for 20 hours. Then it
started throwing some errors.. That's when Ices died.
Ices reported a libshout error.
Part of the Icecast log is included. What can I do about this?

No subject
a shoutcast server. Various posts say that you must start with shoutcast
server and use icecast as the relay. (I don't want to do this because we
already have a perl script written to work with ices and I don't want to
have to redo it to work with shoutcast. It looks feasible but will still
be quite a bit of work because there is no state saved between calls
from shoutcast. In ices,

Tunein on Vizio plays only 1 sec, works fine elsewhere...
Hi!
My icecast stream is at http://airprogressive.org:8000/stream Website is
http://AirProgressive.org
This works on Tunein on most platforms, including Android and PC, like
this: https://beta.tunein.com/radio/AirProgressiveorg-s141251/
But on Vizio "Smart" TV app, it only plays about 1 sec, then stops with
no indicated error.
But icecast still believes the stream is connected

Send admin kill request to server
Hi everybody,
finally I found a solution!
First, Icecast requires a Basic Authorization, which has to provide via a
header.
But this can't be done via JavaScript or JQuery, due the security features
of the browsers.
For more detail information see

between-postman-and-jquery-ajax/75493285#75493285.

I am using 1.3.12+patch at the moment. That patch I have on it was the
one I submitted earlier which fixes the problem with the wrong
arguments passed to snprintf in the avl code. That shouldn't affect
sound.
I'm fairly certain it's a

This is not fully correct. It depends on the configuration and may
change with different versions of the server.
An important note here, and to be honest the main reason why I

Send admin kill request to server
Hi,
I have a strange problem, which I don't understand!
I create a URL like:
https://
.:8000/admin/killclient.xsl?user=admin&pass=password&mount=/mount.mpeg&id=12
3456
If I send this URL via a browser to the Icecast server, it works fine!
But if I send the same URL via JQUERY AJAX, it failed, because
"Authentication Required". But the user and the password is

Send admin kill request to server
Good morning Philipp,
in the log files I couldn't find anything, but the level is only set to 3. I set it now to 4, but a restart is require first.
How can I set the credentials?
If I use <bind-address> is the server than only listen to this IP?
Can I have 2 bind-addresses for one port?
Where can I find additional information about setting the credentials?
Can I provide you my

Good Morning Philipp,
that make be a good point.
But it would be very helpful, if in the Icecast documentation would be very clear defined, which kind of authorization is required for which server version.
At least, I could not find anything!

Real UserAgent?
Hello All!
Is there any chance of showing the real useagent in the "listclients.xsl"
I like to keep track of what players and version is used.
Winamp 2.x or 5.x only shows Winamp not "WinampMPEG/5.0"
Now xmms useragents works like it should!
Thanks
