make giss.tv as slave
Hi all there. I am trying to set up an icecast2 server (wich is already running) to send some stream mount point to another server. I mean, my server is streaming at /radio1.mp3 mount point. We can listen it at http://myserver:8000/radio1.mp3; so, i want to know if is there any way to "clone" that strem and send it to another server, such as http://giss.tv:8000/radio1.mp3 I have been

[Video@Xiph] OGG Theora streaming

Visionair isn't ours (xiph's) directly. but it does use our libraries somewhere to do the actual encoding stuff. Layers upon layers :-) I know about it and have seen it used, but never worked

Lossless stream from MPD...

Yes, but I'd rather not attempt to learn how to script Liquid Soap just to pull off what I want. If it's the only client that supports this though, I'll give it a look. Will this work? # Stream it out output.icecast(%flac, host = "localhost", port = 8000, password = "hackme", mount = "basic-radio.flac", radio) On Apr 22, 2015 1:22 PM, "Eduardo Martinez" <erm13martinez at gmail.com> wrote: > Liquidsoap is another encoder simular to ices or MPD. Icecast source encoder that can handle http streams?
This might be a workable alternative, but it sounds like I would have to have a connection to the remote radio station all the time, even when I'm not actively relaying it. I have to pay for bandwidth overages at my hosting center, so it would be better if I could avoid streaming from the other station needlessly. It sounds like LiquidSoap may be the way to go for me. I'm going

Icecast source encoder that can handle http streams?
I need to set up an icecast server which will stream out local MP3s sometimes and relay another internet radio station at other times. In order to do this, it seems like the icecast relay support won't help me - there's no way to turn that on and off without changing the icecast config and restarting the server. The only external icecast source app that seems to handle http

But you're right about the bugs. The critical (i.e. urgent) ones in no particular order: 1. PRS will disconnect from Icecast after a certain amount of time

Open source streaming project in need of developers
Hi everyone, I thought long and hard (ok, not *that* long) about whether or not to crosspost this to icecast-dev. In the end I decided not to since this isn't about an Icecast or Xiph project. My name is Geoff Shang and I've been an enthusiastic user of Icecast for a long time. I am also the chief tech guy for a project called ACB Radio (http://www.acbradio.org), which is run by

After I enabled SSL, stream mountpoints broke
Philipp, Thank you for your quick response. I can't believe that I didn't think of that...I guess I just assumed that it would use SSL. I'm using Liquidsoap as my source client. Once you brought that up I started researching whether there was a way to force Liquidsoap to use SSL and from what I found it doesn't look like there is an option...but please correct me if you or

Best source for creating multiple streams
Hi there. I'm trying to find a way to create multiple streams with one source client. Each of the streams should read from a different playlist file and randomly pull and play songs from the file. I know how to do this with a single stream with clients such as IceS and Ezstream, but I don't see a way to specify different playlists for each mountpoint. I was wondering if anyone had any

Problem with HTTP stream but not HTTPS.
Strange issue - not sure if something has changed in Icecast2, but suddenly my long-running stream won’t connect to 8000 and says 'File or directory not found’ http://listen.radioclash.com:8000/ <http://listen.radioclash.com:8000/> but will happily connect to the SSL port I’ve set up https://listen.radioclash.com:8443/ <https://listen.radioclash.com:8443/> I am using Liquidsoap

Can ices read/stream a remote file rather than a local file?
Would it possible to use ices to send to icecast an audio file that it's not located on the same machine where ices is running, but on another machine? I've checked through the source code of ices, and found out that it uses PERL's read function. Maybe by changing this code I would get my result? What do you suggest? If this is not possible, could ices in some way "upload"

Any way to setup a lossless stream from MPD? I know MPD can encode FLAC, but I don't know if Icecast can handle it. Stream Test
Hi Seeing as other people are posting streams to test, the system I have been developing has an Ogg/Vorbis/Theora stream that you can watch. I would appreciate any feedback to what players can play it and which players have problems. (I am using Icecast as the streaming server) So far I have found VideoLan plays the stream very well. MPlayer was ok, but wasn't as good at buffering.

Icecast relay as a source to another icecast?
I have a situation where I'd like to be able to have icecast reach out to another icecast server as a client. Is this possible with relaying? From what I read relaying and master relaying both have the server reach out to another server. The reason is this. I have a hardware encoder (Telos audioactive) sitting on a cablemodem. I have a remote provider (streamcheap or something) set to

After I enabled SSL, stream mountpoints broke
I'm running Icecast package 2.4.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 from ttp:// download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/dm8tbr/xUbuntu_14.04. I've been running on this server for about 6 months now without any issue and all my streams run great. This icecast server is running on the same host that my wordpress site is running on. This is all on my own private server, not a hosting service. Recently I
