slightly offtopic, uninstalling edcast
Hi all, I have edcast on my computer, but I didn't check the box to install
the mp3 encoder, and it is not installing correctly after it has been
deleted from the location it is installed in. It doesn't show up in the
control panel list, so can't do anything about it there. How do I completely
remove edcast from my machine and start over?

tools for broadcasting
Hi all, I'm sending this to both lists because I want to know what both
sides of the conversation think about this. For those of you on the icecast
list, can I have a recommendation on the right tool to broadcast with? If
you like, I'll send you my prerecorded shows, just tell me what the best way
to send those is. For the audacity list now, would it be possible to develop

creating a station from the ground up
Hey all, I am looking to start my own station, but don't know where do
start. I have edcast, so will use that to originate my programs. However,
how do I set up a server to broadcast to? Thanks.

Regarding edcast with icecast2.4
Hello all. So I just thought I would come in here and ask you all a
couple of questions regarding edcast.
First off let me tell you my situation. I am managing a radio station
and my icecast server the way I have it set up the source of which the
broadcaster connects to has to have a username and password for a mount
point that is being passed through the server. Basically these are all

Icecast2 / edcast Initial Setup Question
Hi,
I have setup Icecast2 and edcast (standalone) on an XPSP3 machine. The
basic setup works. I can speak into a microphone and hear my voice from
another PC on a LAN.
Now I want to "stream a file" such as an mp3 podcast I made or just a
song (mp3, acc etc.) or play a CD and don't know what to even search for
in the mail archives, forum or Google to get help.
I can't

creating a station from the ground up
Hi bob,
Well - the upload is the important number when you are talking about
delivering to other people.
You could quite easily run icecast on a VPS (virtual private server) - it
would certainly cost you to do this.
I work for a streaming media company though, and could help you set up a
station - if you're interested - please e-mail me directly - not through the
mailing list.
Thanks,

creating a station from the ground up
Hi Bob,
Well, if you plan to do it from home - it's unlikely you'll be able to
support more than 3 people on a domestic internet connection, broadcasting
at 128kbps.....not sure what you have, connectivity wise there.
Can you run a speedtest? http://speedtest.net

William

Smooth Linux icecast source GUI
Hi , I'm currently helping a small french Radio
they Use Edcast for now on some old Windows XP machines and it's not really
reliable at all although Edcast is a great piece of free software
Then they might migrate to a Linux Box , but apart from darksnow I can't
find a Linux GUI that would match the graphical ease of edcast.
maybe the best would be a Web frontend for DarkIce but I

Problem with SSL
Hi Ervin,
I don't think Edcast supports SSL/TLS, which is what would be needed to
connect to the SSL/TLS port.
Try an encoder that supports TLS such as Rocket Broadcaster Pro
<https://rocketbroadcaster.com/>.
Thanks,
Albert

HELP
is there a way to create multiple streams/channels through icecast.
P.S: i am using icecast with winamp and edcast plugin. To create multiple
streams i need to create multiple instances of winamp. But i want to save
all data regarding icecast( icecast/ winamp/ edcast/ database) on an online
server so that server remains online everytime. Creating multiple instances
will take a lot of space.

Problem with SSL
My radio is running on port 8080, but now I would like to move it to port
8443 (*removed 8080*), and add SSL.
I am using Icecast 2.4.4., windows 10 and Edcast Standalone plugin.
Edcast Standalone connects without problems if I set it to port 8080.
It works http://ip:8080/stream.mp3 and https://ip:8443/stream.mp3
The problem is that it shows the same number of listeners on both
connections.

is there a way to do a "push relay"?
perhaps a little difficult to explain - please bear with me.
We use 2 icecast servers. server1 is managed by us, server2 by our
service provider. Therefore it's easy to make config changes to
server1, less easy for server2.
I generate a stream using edcast, and send it to both servers. Sometimes I
do this by creating 2 streams within edcast, sometimes I just send the
stream to server2, and

Idea to possibly improve flac?
I'd like to express a few things whilst I have the ear atleast a few folks.
There once was a program called oddcast, and then edcast that you
could use on linux to broadcast an OggFLAC encoded audio stream from
jack. Sounds like something many folks would be interested in doing,
but I haven't heard to much of a peep about it. At any rate, it had a
a few issues legally and technical

streaming to broadband and modem users and an intro file
Hello,
I've got an icecast2 server set up. I'm streaming to it with winamp
and the edcast plugin my thanks to everyone who helped me get that
going. An aside is it possible to use a compressor plugin like
audiostocker on an outbound stream going through edcast? I've googled
that this is possible with winamp and shoutcast servers but not seeing
how to run two dsp plugins to an icecast

Fwd: Random "fast forward" noise between tracks
Hello all,
I have subscribed to this list hoping I might find someone who can
suggest a fix for a problem I'm experiencing with Icecast (or possibly
something else in my setup).
Here is my configuration:
Foobar2000 is running on a Windows XP PC. It has the Oddcast plugin
and it is streaming to a Linux machine that is running Icecast Server
2.3.2. Foobar2000 is using the Crossfade,
