Trouble getting in icecast Directory
I have been trying to get my station listed in the icecast directory. I
would appreciate someone reviewing this to see what is wrong. I've
studied the documentation and I think I am doing what is required, but
my station is not showing up in the icecast yp directory.
I'm using icecast 2.3.2
I have the directory entry in the icecast.xml config file:

Orphan threads with Cellphone (Blackberry) player
Friends:
The icecast server is very robust, but has some goofiness with regard to
use with cell-phone players. Has anyone else encountered these issues?
When I use a Blackberry to access the icecast stream, I get orphan and
duplicate client threads.

Max Icecast Listeners
I am curious if anyone has had enough experience to know --> how many
simultaneous listeners can be supported by typical server boxes,
assuming unlimited bandwidth is available?
My specific case:
My server (http://www.AirProgressive.org) is on a Linux VPS server
located in a datacenter and on a optical backbone so that bandwidth is
not the problem. Each connection I am running is at 32kbps

Trouble getting in icecast Directory
Yes, it is a "vague term" but it should match nonetheless. Is the
directory code open source? If so, I don't mind locating the error and
proposing a correction. First step is to have other people confirm that
they get the same results that I do.

Multiple mount points without dynamic reencoding
Hello:
I am running the icecast2.3.2 server and ices0.4 with a perl script
which provides the filename of the next track to play. I am reencoding
in advance using ffmpeg, which has been very reliable. My main stream is
mp3, 64kbps / 44.1 kHz (mono) and I have pre-reencoded the tracks to
32kbps / 22.05 kHz (mono), for a lower data rate stream. At this time, I
have not figured out how to get a

Shoutcast directory listing?
I don't see that Nullsoft can do anything about it if Icecast was modified
to update the SC directory exactly emulating SC Server. We would then
utilize Icecast server for all our hosting, which is much more flexible.
But our customers cannot do without being listed on the popular SC
directory. Currently we have about 98% SC servers and 2% Icecast.

Trying to build ices-0.4 on ubuntu and "libshout not?usable"
Hi Ray:
With Ubuntu for the libshout library it will work if you install it using the apt-get command.
Apt-get install libshout-dev
I got ices to work on Ubuntu 14.04 with this.
Hope that helps.

Icecast scales pretty well, to the point that assuming unlimited
bandwidth is not an appropriate assumption.

Trying to build ices-0.4 on ubuntu and "libshout not usable"
Hello:
I hope someone can take a look at this and give me a little push to get
me past this logjam.
I've been running icecast + ices-0.4 + a perl application developed
internally which runs an mp3 stream for a number of years.
I am migrating my server from CentOS to ubuntu so I can upgrade to Perl
5.18 (so as to get clean unicode processing for another application.) I
have installed

My icecast stream is at http://airprogressive.org:8000/stream Website is

no indicated error.
But icecast still believes the stream is connected

Can't ./configure ices or ezstream
Hi
I've been trying to './configure' for ices and ezstream but both die.
In the case of ices, it get this far:
checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
but /lib/cpp seems to work fine.
for example:
