Icecast Fedora9 migration problems
Ok, sorry about the top post.
Compiled and installed 3.2.3, found a few stilled borked configs with my
MPD, and fixed that, and both Icecast (after playing with ownerships that
were deleted when I de-yum'ed the icecast RPM from the Fedora repo's) and
icecast is working. I will clean up the config to remove some of the things
that were mentioned though.

icecast+liveice in normal user fail
I would like to use icecast and liveice as my normal account.
If I do so, using xmms, I can access the relayed radios I have defined,
but I cannot listen th the playlist liveice is broadcasting on /disk. XMMS
tells me that the specified stream could not be found.
If I launch icecast as root however, it works fine. I've searched through
the logs and checked the file permissions but I

Hello,
I’m new to icecast and I’m trying to setup icecast on Debian 8, with the 2.4.3 version, compiled manually.
The thing is I can’t make the ssl part work.
I have a listen directive like this :
<listen-socket>
<port>8483</port>
<ssl>1</ssl>
</listen-socket>
and ssl-certificate :

Files not populated in var/www
Greetings,
I would love any advice configuring icecast on a virtual redhat server
hosted by our university. I am currently trying to configure Icecast and
cannot get the icecast server to start. The config file looks correct. I
checked the /var/www/icecast/web and /var/www/icecast/admin folders and they
were both empty, leading me to believe that this is why the server will not
start. Since I was

Exactaly, I would recommend the mod_mp3 project for something like that.
http://media.tangent.org/
They are doing almost exactaly what sound like you are looking for. There
is also the project 'ampache' that takes this one step further and adds a
MySQL database backend to a PHP front.

Kicking duplicate connections
Hello fellow mailing list readers,
My question relates to multiple / duplicate connections to the ice cast server from the same IP address.
I am well aware that this is an issue that lies with the music player (listener agent) used by the listener. When a listener connects to the stream, sometimes it appears as two connections to the stream from the same IP address. This may last only a few

Impossible to connect to ANY yp server
Greetings
I'm having problems announcing my stream on any yp server, using
Icecast v1.3.12 compiled with the optimization support.. I have
tried every directory server I could find, but I still get the same
result.
When I start icecast with an yp server available, I get this:

[yp.icecast.org:80/cgi-bin/touch]
.. and then I don't

Icecast winamp oddcast mountpoint problem?
Hi there!
I'm new to the list and I'm experiencing somekind of problem. I have installed icecast 1.3.12 as a OpenBSD 3.2 port. I use winamp (on win2000) for encoding with muchFX and 4 oddcast DSP plugins for different streams. Streams are mounted in /low /medium /high /vh mount points. From icecast logfiles it seems that everything is working ok. When I try to connect with a client

Placing Icecast in a chroot jail
Hi,
(Sorry for the long email)
As a bit of a learning exercise, I'm trying to place the icecast daemon
in a chroot jail. I've been mostly sucessful: I can get icecast to
serve the default stream from its jail, however I can't get multiple
streams to work.
I think the problem is that icecast can't resolve addresses in the jail,
however I do have an etc/hosts file and

Power failure and NUT not shutting down
All,
Recently my area got slammed by very bad storms (something among the
lines of 120 MPH winds and lots of hail) which knocked out a quarter of
the power in my city. When I arrived back to my home office, I naturally
found everything powered off and silent, but what I did notice is my UPS
still had full battery. While booting the systems back up after power
was restored, I didn't

If I leave 'ADMIN' out it let's me in with the password. So maybe my

station" run on my lan.
Thanks
