Re: Viewing Broadcast using scope in a Webpage
Is there a method to code on XHTML webpage that will use a "scope" to
display the music stream that is being played? (like something using
JavaScript?)...
Just curious...

Streaming to Doja devices
Hi,
Actually, I thought that Icecast did support seeking for static files. Of
course it doesn't for a live stream.

list of features and question to technology
Hey there,
I am wondering if there is any list available giving me a list of feature of icecast (maybe also in comparision with shoutcast).
Moreover, I was thinking if and how the following scenario is solved: suppose I'd like to stream 1000 different songs at one time, i.e. 1000 user will listen to different mp3s hosted by my streaming server. Are in this scenario all 1000 songs (at

Mountpoint "disappearing" ?
Hi,
I'm trying to get the following project to work :
* acquisition from video acqusition card using vlc
* vlc transcode to theora/vorbis and sends it to an icecast2 server
Using VLC to acquire from the device is working ok. I get a stream in
theora/vorbis format with audio & video sync'ed.
Now, when I use VLC to send the stream to my icecast2 server, the
stream mounts, it is

Speex Support for Ices?
Using ices w/ icecast, I noticed a 15 second delay between live audio
and live stream.
Another item I recently started researching, was using speex (speex.org
related to ogg/vorbis). I'm wondering if this might significantly
reduce delay times.
One question I ponder is if user's players have the speex codec compared
to the more popular vorbis/ogg codec.

Streaming to Doja devices
Doja devices (NTT Mobile Phones) are very limited in their connectivity
capabilities and was wondering if icecast can help me overcome them. The
first limitation is that they only support HTTP that as I can see would not
be a problem with icecast. The second limitation is that these Doja devices
cannot transfer more than 150KB of data per HTTP connection so I can not
simply establish one

Newbie question ... fallback mounts
Attached is my config file. The purpose is to interrupt my regular
stream sith a station (stream) ID once per hour (time synchronized
externally).
I use ezstream to play the pre-recorded stream ID.
I never hear the stream ID while listening to the stream. (There is a
10 second break in the stream once per hour) What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Mike
