xsl:value-of
That's a shame, and worth considering as a future feature. Shoutcast Server
has this as an option, and it's quite useful to see what countries (domain
extensions) your listeners are from.

xsl, xml, ARRGH!
Hello...
Coming from an Icecast 1 background, I tend to like the admin
functionality of Icecast1 over Icecast2. Fixing this is but some file
editing away, I supposed.
I'm trying to simplify the administration screens for myself and
co-sysop.
In testing, if I copy the listclients.xsl into the web directory, it
works like I would like... almost. I get a listing of every stream on the

Is there any software that can be run in windows to monitor icecast mounts, ie, user count etc..
I swear I seen one before but I can't remember where.

Feature Requests
Is it possible in a future version to be able to enable/disable mounts from inside the web interface the same way steamcast does now.
I love icecast but i've been looking at steamcast and I like some parts of there web interface ie. bandwidth usage stats for each mount and in total for the server, and being able to enable/disable mounts. But I don't like the delay, it has that painful

Forums, Lists and Spam
Even with forums spam can happen. The most likely cause of spam is people putting there email address in the body of the message either telling someone to email them or in a signature line.
As for spamming the icecast mailing list users, if you goto http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/ you will see the archives for the list and the software they use edits email addresses so they can't be

Rc1 Linux Crash
I'm trying to use authentcation on a mount on the 2.3RC1 and each time it has to open the auth file it crashes.
This is the debug. There is no file named kwscan so I guess it's a error in creating it. icecast crashes when I try to add users or try to load the mount in winamp.

Media Player Buffering Issue
I just noticed something. I'm using simplecast as my encoder. If I put the first Mp3 option which is listed Mp3/Mp3Pro when I play the stream in Media Player it just buffers and buffers and doesn't play.
If I select the option Mp3 (ACM) Media Player works.
Why would this be?

In case of fallbacks you have to check properly through querying a
custom XSL, JSON or the admin backend.

Things I would like to see.
For the future if possible i'd like to see a couple of things in icecast.
1) being able to create/edit/delete static mount points from the web interface without neededing to edit the config file and restarting the server from a shell account. Like you can do right now with usernames and passwords
2) Be able to create/edit/delete relays from web interface (same as above)
I don't know if

Listener stats
I think I got it.
I needed to change the following: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000/admin/listclients.xsl?mount=/mountpoint to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000/admin/listclients?mount=/mountpoint and that gives me the XML. No need to change or modify anything. Now how do I get the json as I prefer json?

Windows Media Player
I'm having a problem with WMP and icecast 2.2.0. When people try to connect it buffers the feed really slow and people never go get audio.
I've tried connecting over the LAN and it does the same thing.
Open http:/scanner.weatherserver.net/live in media player and you will see what I am talking about.

Yes. Though I don't know if using an arbitrary one works from the admin
directory. Certainly you can put them in icecast's webroot directory (or some

Why not just use the API? Remove the ".xsl" from any URL in the admin
interface and get the raw XML. The rendered webinterface

Digging Deep into the XML
Hey all, I?ve been working with IceCast for the last month, I?m really
getting into it. I?ve started developing some of my own windows based
reporting tools on it. (Will be released to the public..free of course) I
had a few questions tho..
1. There is a problem on the windows version of IceCast, where if you
play a song such as Queensr?che (with the special char for the y) it tends
to make
