Two sources on one PC
you can run multiple instances of the standlone version of oddcastV3 by just installing it multiple times into different directories... all config files are kept locally. oddsock At 09:05 AM 2/9/2006, Geoff Shang wrote: >Hi, > >hmmm. looking for blind win32 users
Hello all, Sorry to post this here, but I am pretty sure there are a few blind win32 users who frequent the list. I'm looking for a blind win32 user or someone visually impaired enough to depend on assistive technology to use applications. I am doing research related to win32 development and assistive technologies. Essentially I'm trying to make sure a new application will be usable by

No sound (ices-2.0.0, RH9)
Hello, I've successfully installed Icecast 2.0.0 and Ices 2.0.0 on a Compaq EvoN600C running Redhat 9. Everything runs quite well (no error loggued by Icecast or Ices), the Ices stream is seen as a source by Icecast and friends are able to listen to my radio (I see them as listeners in Icecast admin)... the problem is that they ear only silence ! Looks like the streaming is OK but Ices could

Re: songs on website
Hi Christian, Aaron Wolfe has already sent me a script he used for his online radio. I only need to customize it -- and maybe create a Debian package from it. It knows much more than I need (requests, cancels, more stations, etc.), I'll have to cut out some parts. To answer your questions I use Debian Linux, I'll use ices2 as source, not a media player. Thanks, Jacint Christian

disable ID3 update
I knew it wasn't ID3, I just didn't know the name for it. This way you knew what I meant. :) Thanks for the reply. Then I'll modify my Ogg files. I have jlGui Java player embedded into my web page, and it keeps reconnecting every time a song has ended. Unfortunately by reconnecting it looses the first 1-2 seconds of the songs. According to what you've said there's no way

Using aoTuV with Oddcast
Hi, Excuse my ignorance, I'm primarily a LInux user and don't have a Windows install on any hardware that's actually working at the moment. Is it possible to use aoTuV B3 with Oddcast? Is this simply a matter of replacing a DLL? If so, are there any precompiled DLLs anywhere, or is anyone with the appropriate tools prepared to cook one up for me? I have people who are probably

icecast2, ogg, mp3, etc
Hi, Just wanted to clarify, can icecast2 not read OR broadcast any mp3, or can it just not broadcast mp3 (but still play from a playlist)? I know the quality would be dropped if it had to reencode them though. And what's up with that POS Winamp3, it doesn't even play gg streams?!? I use xmms, but we have winamp3 on a demo computer, it just sits and keeps prebuffering. I need something

darkice question
Hello, Can darkice take it's input from a playlist or must it have a sound card? If the latter i am looking for a streamer that goes with icecast2, can handle both mp3 and ogg, can take input from either a playlist or a sound card, and can do on-the-fly encoding. From what i've read i don't believe ices-02 does this. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Dave. --- >8 ---- List

disable ID3 update
Hi, I'm running Aaron's tunequeue scripts for my radio site. (tunequeue.sf.net) I have ices2 to read Ogg Vorbis files and feed the icecast2 server with those files. Could someone please tell me how can I disable ID3 updating? I want all clients to only show the name of the radio, but don't get any of the ID tag information stored in the Ogg files. Where can I set that? Sorry for

ices2 realplayer
I'm rebroadcasting a realplayer stream and there are two problems. The icecast2 sounds tinny and its delayed something like 3secs. Any advice to perhaps use speex as it's talk radio? Can I cut the delay? Here is my ices2 config: http://static.natalian.org/2006-06-21/ices-alsa.xml Here is details of the feed, so you can take a listen:

Icecast2 - different Qualities
Hi, We are streaming via oddcast/winamoo to icecast2 a 128kbit/s stream. I didn't find any information about offering a second version of the stream in a lower quality. Can I configure Icecast, that it takes the first mountpoint and gives it a second lower kbps rated mountpoint? Greetings and THX, Daniel
