Is it possible in a future version to be able to enable/disable mounts from inside the web interface the same way steamcast does now. I love icecast but i've been looking at steamcast and I like some parts of there web interface ie. bandwidth usage stats for each mount and in total for the server, and being able to enable/disable mounts. But I don't like the delay, it has that painful

Total number of listeners
You mean something like getTotalListeners() in http://svn.xiph.org/websites/dir.xiph.org/index.php ? Since all our relays are known and authenticated, I think I could query them all in a regular basis to check how many are connected and build a nice graph on-the-fly. I think the small change in the internal mechanism you proposed is better, though. BTW, the code for dir.xiph.org is not all

Total number of listeners
Hello! I am using icecast 2.3-kh2 (for the 302 redirect feature), and all my relays are authenticating with user/pass. Is it possible to know how many listeners I have for any given mountpoint counting all the relays? Video fallback
Hello! Using 2.3-kh2 I wasn't able to make fallback work. This is what I am using: ... <mount> <max-listeners>2</max-listeners> <mount-name>/black.ogg</mount-name> </mount> <mount> <max-listeners>2</max-listeners> <mount-name>/live.ogg</mount-name>

libxml error (or am I just being dumb?)
I've been trying to compile ices and icecast all night. I have narrowed the problem down to libxml. I have tried several rpms of libxml2 and libxml2-devel all to no avail. I don't expect support on this alpha release but just a reply to say that it's a common issue or wether I am just a dunce would be nice. :) Thanks Hans The follwing are installed by RPM: libxml2-2.4.23-1

Failed dependencies for libxslt-ruby on CentOS 6
I'm trying to install a gem named Fabulator on CentOS 6 CR x86_64. It's failing on libxslt-ruby. This is the error I get when trying the gem manually... ------------------------------ # gem install libxslt-ruby --no-rdoc --no-ri Building native extensions. This could take a while... icecast/libxslt compile error
Wondering if anyone else is having this problem compiling the latest version in CVS. autogen.sh runs fine, configure runs fine, make fails with the following: gcc -DPACKAGE=\"icecast\" -DVERSION=\"2.0\" -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DHAVE_IPV6=1 -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_STDINT_H=1 -DCHUID=1 -DCHROOT=1 -I. -I. -I./net -I./thread -I./avl -I./httpp -I./log -I./timing -g -O20

Trouble compiling Icecast 2.3.1
Hi, Sorry if this has been posted about before. I'm trying to upgrade my personal Icecast from some ancient pre-release CVS version, and I've hit trouble: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -Wall -ffast-math -fsigned-char -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/local/include/libxml2 -pthread -g -O2 -c `test -f 'main.c' || echo './'`main.c In file included from

Trouble compiling Icecast 2.3.1
It is almost certain to be the old compiler. Try upgrading to around gcc-3.3.6. If that doesn't work, try dropping back to libxml-2.6.21 with the upgraded compiler. Icecast 2.3.1 compiles wihout problems with that lib and gcc on Slackware Linux with both 2.4.29 and 2.4.31 kernels. Forums, Lists and Spam
Even with forums spam can happen. The most likely cause of spam is people putting there email address in the body of the message either telling someone to email them or in a signature line. As for spamming the icecast mailing list users, if you goto http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/ you will see the archives for the list and the software they use edits email addresses so they can't be

LIBXML and LibXSLT
Hi, I installed libxml-ruby and libxslt-ruby. It took a while but it''s running now. However, on the libxml site (http://libxml.rubyforge.org/install.xml) it says: "...libxml requires a few other libraries to be installed in order to build and function properly. * libm (math routines: very standard) * libz (zlib) * libiconv * libxml2 ..." Media Player Buffering Issue
I just noticed something. I'm using simplecast as my encoder. If I put the first Mp3 option which is listed Mp3/Mp3Pro when I play the stream in Media Player it just buffers and buffers and doesn't play. If I select the option Mp3 (ACM) Media Player works. Why would this be? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=Ottawa Valley Weather-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Weather @ 12:08am - Temp:

Rc1 Linux Crash
I'm trying to use authentcation on a mount on the 2.3RC1 and each time it has to open the auth file it crashes. This is the debug. There is no file named kwscan so I guess it's a error in creating it. icecast crashes when I try to add users or try to load the mount in winamp. Things I would like to see.
For the future if possible i'd like to see a couple of things in icecast. 1) being able to create/edit/delete static mount points from the web interface without neededing to edit the config file and restarting the server from a shell account. Like you can do right now with usernames and passwords 2) Be able to create/edit/delete relays from web interface (same as above) I don't know if

Something interesting
Since the hurricane hit new orleans public safety radio communications have been hit and miss. I just want to let you guys know what icecast is being used for when it isn't streaming a radio/tv station. If you look on this page http://www.radioreference.com/wiki/index.php/Hurricane_Katrina you will see a massive list of icecast servers which are streaming emergency services communications
