[Icecast-dev] metadata fallback mounts
Have now set the log to level 4 and viewed the output when the stream stops/starts. Can't see any errors though. I'm getting: source/source_move_clients passing 1 listeners to "/fallback.mp3" on stream stop and: source/source_move_clients passing 1 listeners to "/studio" when the stream starts again, so looks like it's working. Could it be the client at

Error Syncing to MPEG
I am trying to relay a streamtuner Live365 stream across a ssh tunnel to a remote XP pc, where I would pick it up using winamp. I have a similar setup with a non-live365 stream routed using streamripper to port 9001 and this plays correctly in winamp For my Live365 stream, I have a RealVNC root session that is streaming the Live365 broadcast from streamtuner (using XMMS). I can see XMMS playing

How do I list in YP? icecast2 ices0
I thought the YP code was going to be fixed to use less resources so it could be used with other stream formats. It seems to be taking a long time. As it is now, Icecast2 is not a good solution for those wanting to be on a popular directory. I am forced to recommend using Shoutcast to my clients so they can get onto a popular directory. I would prefer to recommend Icecast2. Ross Levis.

Icecast 2.2
Hi, My stream host upgraded me to 2.2 and since that time I am no longer listed on the Icecast directory. I use SAM3 and it is setup correctly on my end and my provider states all is set correctly there, but it still does not work. Has anyone had this problem? thanks, Greg http://progpalaceradio.com gregstaf@progpalaceradio.com

How do I list in YP? icecast2 ices0
I can understand wanting to boost the adoption of Xiph codecs, but I think restricting the directory to vorbis streams only will not help this endeavour. I can imagine it will just piss a lot of people, including myself, and give Xiph a bad name. I get very few listeners of my AAC+ stream now since this occured. The restriction is not an insentive to switch to Ogg Vorbis at all. The incentive

<fallback-override>
Hello! I have a fallback mount point with <fallback-override>. When my source client reconnects, the media player is moved mack to the right mount point but the media players I have tried (mplayer and VLC) keep playing the fallback. Is this because of my source client (liquidsoap), icecast or the media players? I think I noticed some message in mplayer about mime type or something.

yp.xml - Size and Contents
Hi all, 1. I recently noticed that yp.xml is still limited to 1,000 entries only while the web directory says there are over 21K streams. I remember some discussions regarding the bandwidth required to serve this file, so is it possible to get it in compressed format? Here are some figures: - the yp.xml as served now (1K entries) is 343 KB. This means 21K entries will be around 7 MB. -

Updating MetaData at the Relay
Now that 2.2.0 is out, we can update metadata on-the-fly. At pulverradio.com we are working on an injector that takes the song info from our broadcast automation software and dumps it in (thanks guys for the help). I realize that we can inject the song info like so: http://server.ip:port/admin/metadata?mount=/ mountpoint&mode=updinfo&song=ACDC+Back+In+Black .... but are there

a new directory service
So I've been doing some research and thinking here and there about what a _good_ directory service for icecast would be like. I'd appreciate some feedback and some discussion on this topic, before I start putting a lot of effort into developing it. First off, I think getting rid of # of listeners is a must. It just creates a self-fulfilling prophecy and encourages cheating. I think the
