Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
Hi, The problem the other way around: IceS -> IceCast -> ShoutCast -> KiSS (the KiSS then decodes the mp3 to a RAW SPDIF stream, which is received by my sourround receiver). But the constallation is somewhat overkill and slightly unstable, so I would prefer just IceS -> IceCast -> KiSS But that does not work at all for unknown reasons (since shoutcast can do this, and the

offtop WMV3/9 mms://
Using icecast you can stream nsv (nullsoft video) with aac+ or mp3 audio. There is an activex based web client or winamp client... Its better than nothing! -----Original Message----- From: icecast-bounces@xiph.org [mailto:icecast-bounces@xiph.org] On Behalf Of Andrew V. Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
I have successfully set up a system with Ices0.4 and IceCast2.20 (and Tunez). It plays well using mpg123 or WinAmp. But I would like to use also my KiSS DVD player for the stream, and I have not been able to do so - It appearently needs 110% SHOUTcast compatibility. So I tried the IceCast2.3.1 - but it still didn't like the KiSS (or the other way around). In stead, I have added a SHOUTcast

Server question - if you had ...
If you had $3,000 for a new Icecast2 streaming server, what would you buy? What box, hard drives, LAN cards, etc.? The project I am involved with is helping community groups in UK webcast live public meetings and events. Democaster also archives Icecast streams for on-demand streaming or download. We are focused on high accessibility and low cost. See: http://dowire.org/wiki/Democaster Because

gen-mpegurl.m3u source/making a clean weblink to broadcast
Hi guys. I've been running icecast for awhile, and just upgraded to the latest version. Everything works fine, nice work. Here's the deal, I'm still not sure how to make a clean link to my broadcast. On the icecast.org site, it calls a cgi-bin file called 'gen-mpegurl.m3u.' This always stars up my broadcast nicely. Is there anyway to get the source code to

Wine loose socket connection
Hi... I'm using this streaming application that uses network to connect to the serever and retrive information. Everything is working fine, however when I try to resize or move any windows it drops the socket connection. The application has abbility to detect that lost connection and it retries as soon as it disconnect. After 1 min the application finally reconnect itself. I try to read

live video windows
Hi, Does Icecast2.3 handle wmv (windows media video) format streams? I need to set up a live streaming service. It is important that no additional software should be installed on client side, so either need a flash player (or java based player if we have nothing else) or a format that can be played with the default Windows Media Player. If it supports such things what software can I use to

Enable port 80 on Win2k3 server with Websites configured
Greetings Everyone Just playing around with the new version, And I'm having difficulties setting up Icecast to play with a second listening port on 80. If I turn off all of the websites, it works, BUT, if I have one on (3 IP addresses attached to the Nic...websites attached to port 192.168.0.90) it says it cannot create a listening port on port 80.

Re: HTTP Streaming
Okay, this is similar to how the mp3 streaming was. The question is then, what is the MIME type for the playlist itself? For mp3s, it used to be audio/x-mpegurl?? Thanks, Matt >You need to create a playlist containing the URL of the Vorbis file. Then >the browser will just download the playlist and hand it off to your player. >Which player are you using? How analyze performance (buffering) problems ?
Hello, I'm looking for a method to track stream performance problems, I mean : why does listeners got buffering ? We are using two "front relay" that are hosted by differents providers. The front relays are connected to our main server (which encode) that is using two ADSL connections from two differents providers. How can I do to know if there is a problem between "Front relay

Relaying question
Hello, I'm fairly new to icecast2, so forgive me if there is an obvious answer to this question. I am using a master server and a relay server. What I would like to to do is have the master server send a live stream encoded as 128 bit mp3 to the relay server, and then have the relay server broadcast that stream as well as a 64 nit mp3 stream. Is this possible? Can Ices, Darkice, or

icecast2 ogg vorbis client request headers
I have tried that, but not sure if i am doing that right. in connection.c starting line 847 i believe, it sends this bytes = sock_write(client->con->sock, "HTTP/1.0 200 OK\r\n" "Content-Type: audio/x-mpegurl\r\n\r\n" "http://%s:%d%s\r\n", host, port,

HTTP streaming?
I'm attempting to get http streaming working, but the only result I get is that the browser completely downloads the file, and then plays it. I'm using the type application/x-ogg, which AFAIK is the only Vorbis type there is. I used to have mp3 streaming working, but it had different types i.e. mpegurl and I actually used the 'playlist' type where you just give it an http
