Need Help
Hi, We realized that there are certain parameters within icecast that request specific directory path address for the program to connect upon start up...we are now trying to find an icecast.pid file but we have not been able to find it in any of the directories. Do you know were we can find that file? Thank you, Luis Barrett -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

Use web admin to re-start source?
Thank you. In this case, the source client is the fallback mount, which is an mp3 file. I think I found my issue. The code in icecast.xml looks like this: <mount type="normal"> <mount-name>/stream</mount-name> <max-listeners>6</max-listeners> <burst-size>65536</burst-size>

Use web admin to re-start source?
Hi, I see that I can use the "Kill Source" button on the Icecast admin web page to kill our fallback.mp3 file. Now that I have killed the fallback file, I don't see a way to re-start it. Do I need to stop / start the icecast service? -- That Jack Elliott (541) 848 7021 KPOV 88.9 FM High Desert Community radio Producer, The Wednesday Point Host, The Sunday Classics

Move listeners problems
Thanks, Karl! I've checked the log files during a move command but I couldn't find anything that looked related to the problems. I've thought of upgrading to 2.3.2 but thought I should ask first if it was something common - saw that someone mailed about the same problems a couple of months ago, if I understood it correctly. /Mathias 2009/11/18 Karl Heyes <karl at xiph.org>:

Digging Deep into the XML
Hey all, I?ve been working with IceCast for the last month, I?m really getting into it. I?ve started developing some of my own windows based reporting tools on it. (Will be released to the public..free of course) I had a few questions tho.. 1. There is a problem on the windows version of IceCast, where if you play a song such as Queensr?che (with the special char for the y) it tends to make

Regardless of the xsl files. Can't we communicate with the icecast server directly to retrieve the information ?? On Mon, 14 Feb 2005 12:58:56 -0500, Ian A. Qtl - package - Question
Dear R-Helpers, I am using qtl package to analyze qtl data from QTL cartographer. I have the map file and cro file from QTL cartographer. I was trying to import these two files in R using qtl package. data=read.cross("qtlcart", ".", "crofile.txt", "mapfile.txt") ### I have matched the file structure with the one on the website of qtl package - It matches

Yes. Though I don't know if using an arbitrary one works from the admin directory. Certainly you can put them in icecast's webroot directory (or some

How to killsource from command line?
Hi Apologies - this is more of a bash question than an Icecast question. When I visit the listmounts.xsl page for my Icecast server, for example here: http://icecast.example.com:8000/admin/listmounts.xsl I see that each mountpoint is listed like so: > Mount Point : (/example.mp3) > List Clients | Move Listeners | Update Metadata | Kill Source > > 35 Listener(s) The code for the

Kicking duplicate connections
Hello fellow mailing list readers, My question relates to multiple / duplicate connections to the ice cast server from the same IP address. I am well aware that this is an issue that lies with the music player (listener agent) used by the listener. When a listener connects to the stream, sometimes it appears as two connections to the stream from the same IP address. This may last only a few

Purpose of Epoch Trackers
Hi all, I'm dealing with the multi-threaded code, in one of executions of the program I hitting an assertion failure, I'm not always getting the assertion failure when I run the executable but it occurs for say (1 in 10) times. I think there may be an thread race condition. I don't know which is the root cause of this error because the assertion not explicitly occurs in my code, it

Installation and Configuration Issues
Hi group, FYI, I have successfully installed and ran icecast1 on my home Debian machine. I am now attempting to create a production server with icecast2 for MP3 streaming of some educational radio shows that we produce here. I'm running into some snags. I have gotten icecast2 installed. However, when I go to the status page (http://localhost:8000/status.xsl), I get served a page, but

step in a model with strata
Dear experts, when I call the step function for a coxph model with n covariates and a dicotomous variable included as strata, the first term removed by step is always the strata variable. This is not what I want and then I do a manual step updating the model minus the least significant covariate and testing with anova, until I have minimized the model. Is there a package were this can be done? or

Pb with function taxo2phylog (package ade4)
Hello I'm using the package ade4 to obtain classification from a .txt file. I use the following commands: cronquist <- read.table("cronquist.txt", h = T, row.names = 8) cronquist <- as.taxo(cronquist[7:1]) cro.phy <- taxo2phylog(cronquist) in which cronquist.txt is a file with a classification of 218 genus of tree species from french Guiana. Any reliable command line clients?
MPlayer was a good suggestion. I've been using it for days now without a hitch. I normally just think of it as a movie player, but it seems quite good at playing ogg streams too. It's a slightly larger and more complicated program than I would prefer for the simple task of playing ogg streams. I guess I'd just rather ogg123 work right. But nonetheless, mplayer seems quite
