Multiple Winamp/Oddcast processes
Hello Oddsock and interested parties. Our first multiple stream test broadcast today on one PC and found one problem with the Oddcast plugin. We have multiple Winamps installed in separate folders and are loading each Winamp with a different Windows class name, so that each one may be controlled with external software via Windows messages. The problem is that all streams are sending the same

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
Something else, Greg. Are you aware of any 3G / 2.5G (EDGE) clients for mobile phones that support AAC+ streaming? Be it java or symbian based. Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp. Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict. This might actually be by design. I will do some further testing with Winamp and report here tomorrow. I will also double-check with the developer of Winamp for complete clarification. FYI, Orban Opticodec-PC allows the use of either Content Type of aac or aacp. aac is

win32: Encoder using vorbisenc.dll - AV?
Hello, When I compile either oggenc or encoder_example with static libraries, they work fine, but when I try them with the dynamic libraries, I get an access violation in vorbisenc.dll with both oggenc and encoder_example. Can anyone on win32 confirm this? It's strange because vorbisfile.dll *does* work with vorbisfile_example, and the configuration for vorbisfile.dll is exactly the same

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I'm not sure if this is an icecast issue or oddcast issue or both, but the latest Winamp (v5.22) is not now playing AAC+ streams encoded with Oddcast. Winamp v5.21 and earlier versions work fine. This may be some attempt by Winamp developers to force people to use Shoutcast, or to prevent oddcast from using their enc_aacplus.dll. Right, just took some time to set up the Shoutcast DSP to

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
Ok, it's not as bad as I thought. With some investigation and discussion with a "Major Dude" in the Winamp forums, it appears to be a bug in Winamp v5.22 with streams that end with the mountpoint extension .aac. I changed the mountpoint to end with .aacp and now it works fine. Regards, Ross. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ross Levis"

MSVC files include vorbisenc in the vorbis dynamic library
Hi, A short mail to let you know that the MSVC project files aren't OK compared to the Makefiles. Indeed they include the vorbisenc part (vorbisenc.c file, and vorbis_encode_* function names in the .def file) inside the vorbis library, and they also point to a non-existant file (bitbuffer.h) Here is a patch to fix this, in case you are interested (patch made on the win32 directory using

Oddcast not working with WinAmp 5.01
Does Oddcast have any Windows98 dependancies that I might be missing after doing a reformat? Can't think of what else might be wrong... =( - Chris >From: "Christopher G" <djmoguta@hotmail.com> >Reply-To: icecast@xiph.org >To: icecast@xiph.org >Subject: Re: [icecast] Oddcast not working with WinAmp 5.01 >Date: Wed, 14 Jan 2004 08:43:18 -0500 >

Two sources on one PC
you can run multiple instances of the standlone version of oddcastV3 by just installing it multiple times into different directories... all config files are kept locally. oddsock At 09:05 AM 2/9/2006, Geoff Shang wrote: >Hi, > >hmmm. Oddcast disconnections
Hi Oddsock Have you had any reports of your OddCastv2 wa2 plugin disconnecting without reconnecting? I'm clicking Connect every morning before I go to work and disconnect at night when I get home (due to traffic limits on my DSL). However, over the 5 days of operation, it has disconnected itself 3 times before I got home. I was using 2.0.3 until today when I upgraded to the latest. Today

Vorbis encoding at half speed
I’m using a Windows development component which uses vorbis.dll, ogg.dll, vorbisenc.dll for encoding an Ogg Vorbis file. It's all working well except for one user occasionally has a 1 hour file appear as 2 hours and it plays at half speed. It is being converted from stereo to mono before feeding the encoder with a channels=1 configuration. Here is an example file which will be available for

vorbisenc API docs
Hi, I'm trying repeatedly to get some more information on the vorbis encoding API. My last questions on this list were regarding vorbis_encode_ctl(). Of course prior to posting such questions to the list, I checked the vorbis web site for info. Unfortunately there is no information on the related function, the page http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/vorbisenc/vorbis_encode_ctl.html

Yea, It's VERY possbile to have the encoder sit idle until a User connects - we do that with our WMA encoders and where thinking of applying it to mp3 and ogg - however therein lies the problem - instead of PULL streaming you are PUSH streaming - and the server MUST see a source connected otherwise it will not allow a client to connect - Bryan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ross

Hmm, maybe it could work somehow if we're using quality-based VBR- encoding? If you have silence only very few bandwidth is needed. But I really personally dislike all these VBR-things ... so thats why I would never try implementing it :-) If you want to try to do it this way you might have to write a dsp- plugin that loads Oddcast DSP "behind" itself and passes audio through.
