Two Things: Python 2.1 & ices 0.2.2 / Multiple Streams
First off, I managed to build iceS 0.2.2 with Python 2.1, though I had to add -lutil to the $LIBS definition whilst ./configure'ing. Otherwise, configure won't find Py_Initialize Secondly - multiple streams I've added a second "stream" definition to my ices.conf, and both streams show up as sources for icecast, (http://blah.com:8000/list.cgi), though when i try to connect

NLS -- multiplicative errors and group comparison
Hello, I am attempting to fit a non-linear model (Von Bertalanffy growth model) to fish length-at-age data with the purpose of determining if any of the three parameters differ between male and female fish. I believe that I can successfully accomplish this goal assuming an additive error structure (illustrated in section 1 below). My trouble begins when I attempt this analysis using a model

Predict function for 'newdata' of different dimension in svm
I am using the "predict" function on a support vector machine (svm) object, and I don't understand why I can't predict on a dataset with more observations than the training dataset. I think this problem is a generic "predict" problem, but I'm not sure. The original svm was fit on 50 observations.

R package for MALDI-TOF data pre-processing
Dear R user, Is there any well-developed R package for pre-processing MALDI-TOF or SELDI-TOF data besides PROcess? The package should be able to perform denoising, baseline correction, normalization, spectrum alignment/calibration, peak identification and binning. Thank you. Deming Mi

I'm no expert on Ices0.3 but that config doesn't look right to me. I'm guessing that it's imperative to have the server config as part of the stream section since you can have multiple streams from one source going to multiple destinations (I think anyways.. :) Take a look at my config for ices0.3 below : --------------------------------------------------- <?xml

Persistent audio streams?
I am running MRTG. But yeah, I guess I should look into a few more things before I shoot my mouth (so to speak) off. Problems with plot and Quartz device (PR#13744)
Full_Name: Thomas Richardson Version: R 2.9.0 GUI 1.28 Tiger build 32-bit (5395) OS: 10.4.11 Submission from: (NULL) (216.254.15.72) I have encountered a problem with points in scatterplots disappearing in a quartz window when it is re-sized (to make it larger). I am constructing an 8x12 matrix of scatterplots each containing approx 600 points. In order to get them in the window I remove the

Standard genres for the &quot;Genre&quot; Field?
It might be a good idea to have a list of standard genres that are suggested for use in the Genre field, just so that (polished) encoders can give the user a list to pick from when encoding a song, instead of making the user come up with one their own. This might seem like an encoder issue at first, but if two different encoders use two different names for a specific genre it's going to

journal aborting and remounting /boot as ro
Hi, Apologies in advance for any breaches of netiquette, I couldn't find any guidelines about submission to this forum but I'd be grateful for your help on something. My /boot filesystem is being remounted shortly after start-up as read-only. I get the following messages... journal_bmap_Ra7a5f568: journal block not found at offset 12 on ide0(3,1) Aborting journal on device ide0(3,1)

Icecast [Bad Password]
I assume your referencing the protocol used, of which I have it set to "xaudiocast" <p>When using "xaudiocast" protocol the Ices client will attempt to connect, receive a Socket error message and it then appears to hang (maybe waiting to timeout?). When using "http" as the protocol the Ices client attempts a connection, receives a Socket error message and

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there. While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder. First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76 on Windows 98 SE. 1. When the buttons of Playlist Editor are extended, the part extended in playlist screen seems to be flickering when an Ogg file is being played. 2. I check the option of

Stalled response from icecast to ices
Hi: I'm going to get in before anyone else does. Icecast 1.x is deprecated and not supported by any of its developers. You may find a few on this list who are still using it who can provide tips, but the fact that kernel versions affected its behaviour sugggests it's a more complex problem and none of the Icecast developers support or even care about Icecast 1.x anymore. Unless

Problem connecting to icecast2
Just had a quick mess with my Ices0.3 and if the <hostname> is set to 127.0.0.1 I get "Socket error"...when set to 'localhost' it works fine. Could be a problem there. <p>>From: Brendan Cully <brendan@xiph.org> >Reply-To: icecast@xiph.org >To: icecast@xiph.org >Subject: Re: [icecast] Problem connecting to icecast2 >Date: Thu, 15 Apr 2004

official communication protocol definition / documentation?
Hello, I am looking for a documentation of the communication protocolls icecast is capable of: ICY, XAUDIOCAST and a modified HTTP. In order to write client software being capable of all available features I was searching on the net for those documentations but no luck so far. How come? Isn't this protocoll documented? How does the developer team know what options and functins are available
