Samba PDC shared applications and a default start menu profile
I have a network of Windows XP desktops, and a Samba PDC server, in an ideal world i'd like to have single installations of applications on a samba shared device, and also if possible a default start menu profile with the applications already added... is such a setup possible? Right now I'm using roaming profiles... (I think?) If it's possible could some smb.conf examples or urls

Question about Icecast2 when not streaming
I see. I'm not sure how I keep missing things in the Icecast docs. I'll give that location a try. Question about Icecast2 when not streaming
Hmm. Even with the file in the right place, Icecast still doesn't use it when my stream is offline. I can access the file using it's URL, so I know Icecast has access to it. This is what I have in my configuration file. <mount> <mount-name>/stream.mp3</mount-name> <fallback-mount>/StreamWarning.mp3</fallback-mount>

static file streaming
Hi, I have installed the Icecast2 on my Ubuntu Linux and I was not able to figure out how I could stream static mp3 files. Can anybody help me? What should I do to do this? I put the mp3 file in the webroot and I tried to retrieve it with the " http://host:port/try.mp3" URL but I could only download it (as a whole) but not as a streamed media. Do I have to convert the mp3 to another

Move listeners problems
Thanks, Karl! I've checked the log files during a move command but I couldn't find anything that looked related to the problems. I've thought of upgrading to 2.3.2 but thought I should ask first if it was something common - saw that someone mailed about the same problems a couple of months ago, if I understood it correctly. /Mathias 2009/11/18 Karl Heyes <karl at xiph.org>:

Now I?m going to explain: on ubuntu 12.04, I installed icecast2 with: apt-get install icecast2 it is not the latest version, since I see here there is the 2.4. anyway, I

Serving a playlist.pls / listen.m3u file
Hi - I've heard that Icecast provides a fake "playlist file" along the lines of http://blahblah:8000/listen.m3u or http://blahblah:8000/playlist.pls because Quicktime can't seem to handle the stream without a playlist file to wrap it up. (There may be other reasons.) However, I can't seem to find any documentation about this, and guessing various URLs on my icecast2.0.1

Kicking duplicate connections
Hello fellow mailing list readers, My question relates to multiple / duplicate connections to the ice cast server from the same IP address. I am well aware that this is an issue that lies with the music player (listener agent) used by the listener. When a listener connects to the stream, sometimes it appears as two connections to the stream from the same IP address. This may last only a few

icecast2 mountpoints maximum
We are using icecast as stream-relay for a true narrowcast solution we've developed. The idea behind the system is that each individual client gets it's own mountpoint. Basically we have an application that creates streams. Its written in c++ and uses libshout to handle connecting to icecast. Everything works fine, as long as we keep the number of mountpoints below 347. As soon as we
