Recommnded system
Can't find any recommended system specs on the website. What are they? Will it run well on a Celeron 1GHz? How about a 700Mhz? I'm asking because the company I'm hosting through is running a special on 700Mhz and 1Ghz servers, and if Icecast will run on these, I may just go ahead and lease 4-5 more to move my icecast stuff onto dedicated servers.

Multiple interfaces
I have tried to set up Samba on my Solaris 2.5.1 with 2 interfaces (le0, le0:1 - one network card with two IP addresses). But all I could see is throught the default ports 137 and 139. In my /etc/inetd.conf, I have: netbios-ns dgram udp wait root /opt/samba/bin/nmbd nmbd -s/opt/samba/lib/kes.smb.conf netbios-ssn stream tcp nowait root /opt/samba/bin/smbd smbd -s/opt/samba/lib/kes.smb.conf

[OT] Bandwidth reporting tool recommendations
Hi, Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a reporting tool that shows bandwidth use, for each IP and each interface on a Shorewall FW? Tried BandwidthD, but couldn''t get it to compile on Mandrake10... NAAT might fit the bill - if it doesn''t mess-up my shorewall setup... Thanks for any suggestions, Richard.

Bandwidth Meter/monitoring
Hi to all. I would to ask if there''s way in shorewall that I can be able to check my bandwidth, if im really getting what I paid for. Second, Is there a fast and effective way to implement traffic shaping with shorewall. Many thanks Jan --------------------------------- Yahoo! wanted A tool to measure bandwidth....
Hello Everybody, I have configured a Linux box that does traffic shaping. Its working wonderfully fine, just as expected...Now i want to measure the bandwidth consumed by each of my hosts....But I dont want SNMP to run on all the hosts[as required by MRTG] I used iptraf on my linux box, but it only measures the bandwidth on interface basis only.... I tried installing traffic-vis, its not working

Display of NAs in character columns of a data frame under fix() or edit().
Example: xxx <- data.frame(x=1:26,y=letters) xxx$x[c(2,4,6,8)] <- NA xxx$y[c(1,3,5,7)] <- NA yyy <- edit(yyy) The missing values in xxx$y appear as blanks in the spreadsheet window that appears, whereas the missing values in the numeric column "x" appear as "NA" (as I would expect). Is this a bug or a feature? cheers, Rolf Turner P.S. >

Bandwidth Limits
Has anyone noticed that the --bwlimit doesn't really work? I have MRTG stats happening, and on a 128Kbps circuit, an rsync with the following syntax takes up the whole line. $ rsync -avz -e ssh localfiles.tar.gz user@remote:/path/to/file/arch Any ideas? It's on an OpenBSD box going to a FreeBSD box. Both are 2.4.6. -#0

IAX2 Channels & Bandwidth
Hi all, I'm using VOIPJET to make international calls with an IAX2 connection between my local asterisk server and their server(s). At times I seem to have a problem if 5 or more international calls are made at once - I'm on a 1024kbps download and 256kbps upload DSL line (only the asterisk server uses this DSL line). Today I switched the codec from ulaw to ilbc in an attempt to lower

Monitor traffic/bandwidth by mountpoint
I saw a request for this feature raised several years ago. Has this been implemented yet? If not, how are users monitoring traffic on port 8000, and even better can you split it up by mountpoint? I want to know how much traffic our icecast clients are using each month. Thank you, Shannon

Bandwidth monitoring tool
Hi. I am trying to shape my upstream bandwidth, mostly per port. and I am having some problems getting things to work the way I want them to. before I throw my configuration at you guys ;), I`d like to debug it by myself - but I was not able to find a tool that allow me to monitor current bandwidth usage per port (and preferably even per port+ip). I want to know what is the current bandwidth

Tracking Traffic By Port or Process?
Does anyone know of a way to track TCP/IP traffic by TCP/UDP port and/or by process/daemon with CentOS? I know a variety of ways to track it in total (e.g., ifInOctets & ifOutOctets with SNMP), but I'm not sure how to be approach seeing traffic by application, port, or process. One option would be to write something that would sift through different stuff for each daemon (for example,
